The fall lineup is pretty sick, HBO is gonna be on fire. Showtime had it a good run but other than the Broner/Maidana PPV, there's nothing to see.
I'm glad I don't have to listen to that Mauro guy and his amateurish blow by blow.
Excluding the PPV fights, nothing beats Alvarado-Provodnikov in Denver. Alvarado fights with heart and pride. Now imagine him fighting in his hometown. Its gonna be a good one.
Quillin-Rosado on Hopkins undercard should be good. I think Quillin has a glossy record but he's over-rated. Rosado has a spotty record but he's under-rated. I'm picking Rosado by split dec. Quillin gets one judge for fighting in his hometown, but Rosado capitalizes on Quillin's flaws.
They're not bound to TR, they'll work with anyone but GBP. In theory SHO is not bound to GBP, but look at the reality. Chances are SHO cannot sustain the big, expensive GBP roster, much less work with other promoters.
Their expenses are getting bigger and bigger.
I still like Sho's lineup more, but HBO is making itself known after going ghost, so that's good.
Problem is they are bound to TR, and that's a lesser promotional company to Golden Boy, with less promising fighters overall in the long term
but I have both networks

HBO is the B team compared to Showtime. HBO is featuring numerous fights that no one wants to see, but hard core fans will watch anyway -- at least the fights on regular HBO.
Marquez-Bradley should be on regular HBO not on PPV. Pacquaio-Rios should be on regular HBO and an argument could be made for putting it on Friday Night Fights. Instead of Mikey Garcia vs. Roman, they should be showing Mikey vs Rigondeaux, even if it was at a catchweight. Cloud/Stevenson belongs on FNF and Cotto/Rodriguez won't be competitive.
Wow never herd hbo reffered to as the b team. Showtime had floyd vs canelo. Besides the better fights have been on hbo. And the rest of the year is all on hbo. What world u living in
Neither guy are top 10 in the weight? And it's going to be on before the main event.
How's Salido not top 10 at FW? It's a crap matchup, agreed, the TR undercards blow
It'll be great to have HBO show live boxing every weekend. The matchups are decent, but it seems that they're basically swarming the schedule with quantity over quality... mismatches starring fun fighters. This upcoming weekend was going to be their best show top to bottom until Haye-Fury was cancelled.
Showtime and GBP seem to have an excellent strategy; they just went on a solid run, while HBO went into exile for the Summer (as they usually do), closing out with the highest revenue grossing fight ever only showing a Hopkins (one of the high ratings generator despite his style), Quillin, and Wilder (2 intriguing fighters that are among the best punchers in their respective divisions) tripleheader. Then closing out the year strong with Khan-Alexander (Khan's last chance at qualifying for Mayweather; I think Garcia takes the shot if Khan loses) and Brroner-Maidana (GBP reportedly looking at putting Mares-Gonzalez II on the undercard).
Hopkins, Quillin and Wilder are all mismatched. Broner Maidana is a PPV. So that leaves you with Khan vs TBA. I gotta say Khan is usually a good show, the Julio Diaz fight was very competitive
Oh, and the Cotto fight HBO overpaid for...
What's next? Zou Shiming vs. A homeless Chinamen?
Awesome.
It's not that different than Broner Paulie, which cost 2.5m+, but Cotto will do better numbers on TV and live
HBO still hasn't paid any of Shiming's outrageous purses. As cheap extra boxing on TV goes, the Shiming cards >>> SHO Extreme
Salido-Cruz for a belt neither owns shows Bob will never change.
Never heard of vacant belts? Canelo Hatton doesn't ring a bell? Mares Morel? At least it's not at a CW like these 2.
The competition between networks is good as long as it forces the promoters to give us better matchups and more packed shows top to bottom.
Hopefully the days of Arum giving us lackluster undercards are over.

HBO is about to hurt the game, but since i'm subscribed to both, I don't give a flying phkkk which network is showing boxing, just as long as 1 of them is showing boxing.
Yup. And got 2 tvs in basement so whether its hbo or sho or even competing cards big dunn is good to go.
Oh, here's this HBO vs SHO again.
Our household have SHO and my brother have HBO subscription.
Who tf cares who does well or not?
And the dumb Mayweather fanatics run with it
just because he's on Showtime now.
What a stupid fanbase.

Yeah, I don't understand all these bullshit HBO vs SHOWTIME crap. Either you're a boxing fan or not, wtf does anything else matters? It's seriously one of the most retarded rivalries created on this forum, right next to GBP vs TOPRANK>
Seriously, only people who really don't give a shit about the sport of boxing would argue about this.
1 ppv event can afford you both showtime & hbo channels for a few months. Heck, if you don't pay for PPV and use that money you can afford both showtime & hbo all year long and still get to see the ppv fights a week after.
So yeah, only idiots would argue about this.

Yeah bro I feel the same. Happy to have hbo back with all these great fights. That mma guy on showtime is fn horrible. Mama mia wtf really???? Go the f away already with that bs lol
