This is a thread dedicated to the Tijuana Tornado.
Tony always came to fight and had one of the hardest chins I have ever seen.
To bad Mayweather ducked him.
War Margarito!:boxing:
He actually gets overrated as hell depending on who you ask (Mexicans).
This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The guy is one of the most overrated guys of the past 15 years..
He made a career of feasting on green prospects like lujan, kyvoloes, cintron..
The guy was hyped to be a monster, but in reality, he was just a huge welter, picking on smaller, green prospects..
He went like 2-6 vs top level guys and got caught with plaster..
Biggest mirage so far this century
A Margarito appreciation thread?
Oh goody.... let me contribute.
I hope that scumbag, lowlife cheater gets his good eye popped out before he gets the chance to make any more money from the sport of boxing. Then, as a half-blind guy with no education or any other skills... he can get some minimum wage job that doesn't require anyone with brains.
I love how people say Mayweather ducked him. Like that slow plodder would have landed a glove on Floyd. You don't need to be a Floyd fan to know that.
still... floyd ducked him.
Only Cotto and Floyd fans diss him
everybody else understands Tony was badass in the ring
the guy did his part to make every fight exciting
one of the toughest guys in boxing during his run
no shame in Pac ending his career, Tony fought his ass off that night
How? By blocking punches with his face?
He was a fun fighter and had some great fights, but lets not go overboard. He was a decent champ of today's multi-champ era in a division in which he never would have been a champ in years gone by.
He has some good wins, Cotto, a very green Martinez, Clottey, Cintron, Lewis, among others, it that is, in no way whatsoever, make him underrated. He has always been, and probably always will be now that Pac beat him, overrated.
Unlike most NSB nuts, I don't think he ever cheated before the Mosley fight and even the Mosley fight and wraps was blown out of all proportion. There is very little evidence showing any conscious effort at harm and what was found was so minimal that it could not have ever made the slightest impact on any fight.
So, while I think he's hugely overrated, he was a decent champ with some good wins,, but was limited and very beatable. He'll be known most for his two high profile losses and the utterly absurd and ridiculous media scam that had him dubbed 'the most feared' man in boxing.

funny u post these gifs of a guy who was caught using steriods.....
He did you steroids, true... But atleast he did admit and embarrassed his punishment... While Cheatarito tries his hardest to act as if it never happened, and even claimed to be oblivious to his trainer putting them on him, after the fact his trainer admitted to both their wrong doing!
Shane will always be known as the guy who broke down that Hype!
I thought this was I joke! Most overrated chump, criminal, piece of work in this decade of boxing... His fans need to go find a new sport to watch were cheating is accepted!
simple answer " Piece of **** " He knew he wasnt that skilled, he also knew that he needed an edge to overcome his inabilities to beat the best. Yes he had heart, Yes he had a good beard, but at the end of the day he wasnt elite, and even if he was he cheated to achieve that status................So what Azzclown on earth wants to give credit to a man with those credentials?
Tells you everything when neither Mayweather or De La Hoya wanted any part of him. A real fighting man, who would rather go out on his back than jack a fight.
The best heel in boxing!
I miss him, 24/7 and Faceoff was at its best with Margarito. Up until the handwrap scandal he was the most feared man in boxing. The hype around GGG right now was nothing compared to what Margarito was getting leading up to the Paul Williams fight and then when he beat Cotto it all came back! After the handwrap scandal he kind of embraced his roll as a villain and played a damn good one, way better than the Adrien Bronner character who is just a rip off of what Floyd already does better. Love him or hate him, he entertained in both defeat and legend! Here is a tribute to the man and the myth! www .youtube.com/watch?v=scTXvHREGIQ
