Dude has all the balls in the world..he fights everyone..no 1 can ever call this man a coward..Cotto i had to root against you with Floyd but damn you got a fan in me..
it has to be a cw to be fair, imagine if cotto wins this fight he would be the lineal champ at 160 unless martinez refuses to put up his belts which i think will happen. i believe it could be 157 at msg
well he really is the man no two ways about it he may not beat the very best but he ain't afraid to fight them and you can be sure of one thing, the best may beat him, but he'll make them f*cking bleed first ... hell he even made floyd bleed ... nuff said. :boxing:
yep!!!!!!!! you fight Cotto and he is going to try to change your face
I don't like the idea of Martinez cutting any more weight. He's already on the decline.
I don't think its as big of a problem as some make it out to be, in Martinez' case. He's not a big/natural middleweight, has to work just as hard to make 160. Only a few pounds separate cotto and Martinez on fight night.
I think it happens at 154 or even 155 CW. I saw this not because of Cotto but because of Martinez, Dibella is avoiding Golovkin at all costs and it's obvious. He's been saying it forever now, that Sergio is too small for 160 now he has an excuse out of that fight.
As for Cotto/Martinez IF it were to happen, I give Cotto a great shot at winning. First, his style is to beat boxers I understand he didn't beat Floyd but he gave him his hardest fight, ever. He also lost to Trout but Sergio drops his hands and lets you hit him a lot more than Trout, he also likes to mix it up (Sergio does.) The fact is Sergio will get eaten up all day with a jab, enough to win... IDK I'm not ready to make a prediction yet but it's a fight worth watching.

No way he goes to 160, he's barely big enough for 154.
Would any of us be against a catchweight of say 156-157?
Would be a nice cut for Martinez to test the waters on his body for an even bigger cut against mayweather.
Cotto needs to go back to his body work and use his left hook more..if he would just hook off of his excellent jab he would establish himself as a champion again
This is also a fight, like he should have in the trout fight, where he should focus less on trying to box/outpoint, and focus more on standing his ground and bullying.
He needs to get physical with Martinez IMO.
Murray's a good fighter though, he showed it twice on the world stage.
Cotto might look good in spots, but he's moving up again when he's already a small JMW.
I'm interested if they try to put a CW in there
Also lol at interim title. Rubio is gonna be pissssseeedddd
While Cotto doesn't have the size, he does have the skill-set and experience. Maybe his height will give Sergio some issues as he rarely ever fights someone shorter than him. What could wind up getting Cotto hurt is his endurance/stamina.
Martinez is around the same size as Margarito so, it's not a ridiculous fight. But as Cotto is by far the bigger pull, surely they'd make Sergio come down a few pounds?
no way this fight happens at 160. Cotto was too tiny for 154!

I think Martinez looked vulnerable enough for this match-up to be discussed. A healthy Martinez puts a beating on Cotto. However, this current version might run into some issues.

he avoided williams and martinez and went for jennings at 154
1-jennings fight was at 147 not 154
2-he never avoided williams who was a none issue..
3-how do you avoid a middleweight??and he is in talks with fighting him next year
