Masterful performance by Floyd last night. But only hardcore fans will appreciate his boxing. Casual fans are gonna think twice before buying his next PPV.
Unless his next fight is against Pac. I see another Floyd-Guerrero type PPV sales.
The only fight for Floyd thats PPV worthy is Pacquiao.
I don't think the Canelo fight did very many buys at all considering this website didn't even crash. It crashed after the Jhonny-Mares fight just to put things in perspective.
I don't think that has anything to do with ppv but it was weird that it didn't crash maybe we upgraded.
Yea look at his options: Garcia, Alexander, Khan, .....
those are his realistic opponents due to golden boy
but if by a miracle it can expand to: Pacquiao, Martinez, Bradley if these guys win their upcoming fights as well. Prob cross out Martinez cuz hes fighting someone else in the spring in maybe argentina
but yea not much options left for May, so my money is he def fighting either Alexander and Khan. only way he makes money is if he fights Khan in England
I was saying the same thing. Boring boring boring. Surprisingly he is boxings highest paid. Amazing. No fireworks at all when Mayweather fights. He is the best defensive boxer no doubt but he don't bang it out with nobody. That's what the fans want to see. He won't get my money next time around. Big ups to him making those massive paydays but not my kind of fighter by far.
how is it coming up short or not breaking even if Floyd made more then the guarantee minimum
just the haters number Showtime said its over a million but evidently they are lying to save face
It was said that the break even point on the 32m guarantee is 1.1-1.2m, before the $75 bump. So that's the minimum they'd have to hit, else they face losses. AFAIK the rumored number for Guerrero is 875k, which it at least 8m in losses, with the lower break even.
I hope they can eventually land the Manny fight. I thought Canelo would pose more of a threat to Floyd, but he showed zero ring IQ against him. Manny would at least go out fighting.
I agree, man...I dont blame Floyd! You have to put someone in there with him that can actually lay a glove on him :D! Or else its gonna be the same 12-round clinic snoozer. To be honest...I dont think the Mexican/Peurto Rican style can ever touch Floyd. Its a slower, phonebooth, mano y mano style. Floyd runs circles ariund this style. You need QUICKNESS and ATHLETICISM. I like Khan because he's fast, and has just enough machismo to take risks despite the possibility of getting hit :D! Bradley and Pacman too, but Arum remains a hurdle. To be blunt...you gotta move away from the Mexican/Peurto Rican angle...
If your break even point is 1.1-1.2m, 700k is a massive disaster. That's like over 50% of their annual boxing budget. Get ready for Maidana vs Matthysse on Argie Power PPV
It is to the people who matters AKA Showtime. You think they gonna keep taking shorts just to pay Mayweather boring ass his guarantee GTFOH.

So was Floyd-Guerrero confirmed 700K or is that just the number people who hate Floyd throw out now???

Yeah 700k to 1 million buys and 100 million revenue for 1 night is a bomb now.
Some of you people are so bitter it's sad and a special shout out to Check hooks do you even believe anything you type ? your comments aren't funny you spend 24/7 on this sight and literally just diss floyd, your life must be really really sad
There's a big difference between 700k and 1m. One is a 4m loss, large, the other 15m, massive and disastrous.

you think last night was Floyd 1st fight PPV fight ever? people been saying he is boring a runner since before DLH fight yet still he sells 1M+ a fight
700,000+ PPV's is seen as "bombing" now?

lol isn't that what they say after every event? Their plan every time is to build someone up to be "the guy", but nobody, not even goldenboy, wants him to lose, because this plan is working to perfection and they are making the green every time.
I enjoy the shows, big fights, good cards - I'll take it over most other shows.

May vs. Pac is still the biggest fight out there. If Mayweather wants more money than he earned from fighting Canelo then he needs to fight the midget.
Rematch with JMM at WW? If he wins decisively against Bradley then why not? He'd be more credible than Ortiz (lol, what's he done to deserve a rematch?) or Khan. Although Khan-Mayweather would sell in Britain
JMM doesn't want or need that fight. He has a much better chance vs Pac (if he gets past Rios), for more money cause he's got all the leverage.
