what the hell was lucas's corner thinking?

they had a enswell at first then stopped using it

why were they using fingers instead of the en-swell? i thought i was watching mike vs buster all over again They stopped using it apparently because they thought fingers would work better. They know what they are doing. Maybe with the experience they have they know when an en-swell is the most effective thing to use. Fact is, they did reduce the swelling inbetween rounds.

He's going to get a nasty black eye from that.

I gotta go back and watch it again but I heard the comentators mention they had no ice. But the swelling moved from his eye to the side of his head

they did a good job without it though. lucas was still very much in the fight.

I was actually impressed that the corner got the swelling down, they kept Matts in the fight imho.

good point about nothing can really help an eye like that but i think the en swell wouldve helped more . like someone else said once garcia jabbed the eye it got puffed up again the thumb wasnt keeping the swelling down

I don't know what fight you guys were watching! The corner did brilliant with the eye. Stopped it from closing and after the 8th it wasn't a problem at all. Lucas just isn't what people thought he was. yah i was surprised at first that they were using their hands...but then i saw the swelling was actually going down lol.....

Same old story. They thought their guy was invincible and would never need it. yea, i don't think they actually thought they would be needing it.........

They thought their guy was invincible and would never need it. exactly the same thing i thought, imo lucas believed in his own hype he thought he'd knock danny out just by jabbing. if you notice lucas didn't straighten up his punches till like the 6 round he underestimated danny and his corner didn't help either
