Most of you all talking up Canelo to be something he wasn't, you got what you wished for.
How about getting behind Lara? You know a guy who actually stands a chance of at least being competitive and not some flat-footed bag of mediocrity.
Won't happen though, instead we'll be force fed a poor mans version in Devon Alexander or some bum like Khan ''Oh but he fast doe''
Rangy, fleet-footed southpaw with a laser left hand, very good counterpuncher with bags of experience. Hes very good defensively - You don't have to go by 1 fight & compubox to see that unlike you do with someone else.
Get behind Lara! Hes the only fighter out there capable of even being competitive.
I don't get why nobody is screaming for this fight.
Would love to see this matchup but I have to agree with a lot of the posters here when I say that Lara would have to beat someone like Canelo or Cotto to gain more popularity. And therein lies the problem... does anyone see Golden Boy matching Canelo with Lara? Cuz I sure as hell don't. I don't know if Cotto will give Lara a shot. Either way it gets to me how the Cuban fighters aren't getting their due in boxing. Their own promoters seem to want them to lose and the casual fanbase can't seem to appreciate what boxing truly is.
I agree. And what's funny to me is that I would think Floyd fans would be boxing purists and intrigued by him fighting an awkward, slick, well schooled south paw.
There's two different generations of Floyd Mayweather fans. I came up in the "Pretty Boy Floyd" era. It's the new ones who just jumped on because they started watching 24/7 or post-DLH that ruin it.
The match up is so intriguing and Lara could pose real problems for Mayweather. The sad part is GBP wants to pull and TR and shun a guy they can really build up from a boxing standpoint.
I actually think this would be great for All Access just because we could get a glimpse into Lara's training camp and life. It would be interesting to hear about his story of defecting from Cuba.
Of course, nobody knows Lara or will want to read subtitles like they would for Canelo, but like Dan said.... this would be a bout for boxing purists and fans of the sport, not riders.

Some people just care more about All Access and PPV buys

You mean you don't want to see the fight because its no push over? This would be a fight for the boxing purist. An extremely high level chess match.
Why do Floyd fans rather see glorified sparring sessions of Floyd & some flat-footed bum with 1 gear?

Nobody wants to see that fight. Floyd would beat his ass anyway.

From reading this thread I get the consensus is no. Since that's the case I just hope Floyd fights the guys that make him the most money.
Let's do:
Khan in May (I agree with Sr. that he should just skip Alexander)
Cotto rematch in September (Schaefer mentioned it post fight so this looks to be the direction they're going in)
Garcia in May (He will be a star in this sport by this time)
Canelo rematch to close his career
repeat rinse repeat rinse .... Ellerbe will approve! :lol1:
Lara jus went life and death with angulo...you gotta earn yur shot or atleast bring something to tha party...feed lara to trout...im sure austin would eat lara alive after his loss to canelo.
What I see is a whole bunch of excuses being made for Lara's poor performance against a come forward brawler.
It kills me man, it really does. Excuses after excuses, and Lara has shown these vulnerabilities in the past so why are these people oblivious to them?
I'm a Lara fan too but I keep it real, it was a disappointing performance, he should have dominated without tasting the canvas once let alone twice. But unlike these other Lara fans, I don't have any nationalistic bias. These dudes will say something positive about Lara no matter what.
Lara dominates : "I told y'all Lara would beat the brakes off him! Viva Cuba!"
Lara struggles : "Lara showed so much heart, and the odds were against him, I got tears in my eyes man." :crying:
What I see is a whole bunch of excuses being made for Lara's poor performance against a come forward brawler.Buddy, if you have those odds against you and still come out on top that's f%%ing great, if you broke your hand and still putting a hurt on a top five guy in your division, that's f%%ing great, there's no way Lara-Vanes was a draw, the guy stop the fight even before the doc check him he was lucky they clashed heads cuz he was getting tagged broken hand or not, and who gets up from two knockdowns like he suffered and keep the composure while putting a beating and make the guy quit, you might not like him but the guy is a very good fighter with a ton of heart, don't you remember the mellon he had against Williams?
And you guys are going to pay for those crappy fights, Fraud is that you?
Hell no. Not me. I been pushing for the Lara fight.
My point is people are dismissing Lara as an opponent so **** them. I hope Floyd cashes out and takes 4 easy money fights.

I didn't say Angulo was an elite, what I say was that Lara was set up to lose, a small ring that will only benefit a slow brawler with a heck of a punch, he could not rehydrate more than 10 pounds while Angulo did over 20 pounds, they could not cool him off in the corner, so you tell me, they don't want ginger to face Lara that's the bottom line even a blind man can see that, but not, ginger fans don;t want to see it...

Wait a minute, Trout ain't elite but Angulo is? :lol1: Lara was set up to lose even though he was the favorite and every prediction poll had him winning by a landslide? Come on, get real. This was supposed to be Lara vs a walking heavy bag, but the heavy bag gave him some problems.
Is Angulo elite?
Apples and oranges, you simply bring up that fight anytime you argue with a poster that picked Donaire but it doesn't mean ****. I can bring up the fact that you were riding Matthysse, Mr "I'm always right" :lol1:.
You just said that Angulo is more elite than Trout and I'm the stan? LMAO. He couldn't beat Cintron but he would spark Canelo early, sure, if that makes you feel better about the fact that Lara struggled with him...I didn't say Angulo was an elite, what I say was that Lara was set up to lose, a small ring that will only benefit a slow brawler with a heck of a punch, he could not rehydrate more than 10 pounds while Angulo did over 20 pounds, they could not cool him off in the corner, so you tell me, they don't want ginger to face Lara that's the bottom line even a blind man can see that, but not, ginger fans don;t want to see it...
