While I don't particularly think it will effect the outcome of the fight, I just found it really odd how confident Canelo is going into this fight. It's usually pretty easy to spot someone who is scared ****less and then puts up a good front. Canelo really seems to think he is going to win this and doesn't seem to have a worry. Has anyone ever come at Floyd with that level of confidence?
Cotto always seems confident but that's just his regular stare face. Lets not compare bums(hatton) and shot(cotto) fighters to canelo please!
Hatton beat Kostya Z. Canelo beat Trout.....
They are all confident. What they tend to realize is that Floyd is a lot stronger than they think. For some reason his opponents seem to somehow not realize that he's strong.
Agreed, people seem to underestimate just how big a lot of pro athletes egos are, and I dont mean that in a bad way that they are all necessarily ****y and arrogant but they all believe they can be the best ever. Most of the guys hes fought believed they could beat him except maybe JMM.
Ego is the reason you see so many fighters go into a fight in what seems like they have no gameplan whatsoever and also so many fighters cant admit they lost a close or lost when they were given a gift decision because many times they really thought they won cause of their egos.

So Hattons a bum now? And Cotto was shot when he fought Mayweather? Canelo's best win and really only of merit was Trout. Trouts only win of merit was Cotto after he fought Mayweather....so either you're saying Canelo is an overrated hype job....or you didn't think this through well.
floyds not the most intimidating boxer out there. everyone thinks they can beat him until they get a dose of harsh reality

This is true. When you WORK too hard on being composed and and above it all, it shows. Then people realize you don't genuinely believe you're superior

Who wouldn't be confident at this stage in Canelo's career? What is he 22 or 23? Win or lose he will still make money and be a draw because of the Mexican fanbase. He has absolutely nothing to lose this fight and everything to gain. I would have thought that the experts on this site would have seen that already.
I'm pretty sure that Jose Luis Castillo was the most confident opponent Mayweather ever faced, and with good reason. That guy was supremely talented throughout his entire career.
^^^^^^^^^^
He was completely unfazed by Floyd and it showed.

I was just gonna say this but still canelo still seems like he has something alil extra when it comes to conifidence compared to most of Mayweathers opponents, seems like he see's/knows something that others didn't..
Like Floyd says 'its different watching from the outside in'.
This is true. I remember pre-fight he seemed pretty convinced, but then once the fight started and he realized after round 1 that he had no answers, he just shut down.
You must've watched a different fight.
Hatton comes to mind. Judging by how his life went downhill after that loss i honestly believed he thought he could win. I wouldn't be surprised if canelo was cashing out with this fight he has more years and higher weight classes to build his true legacy.
Hatton genuinely believed he could win

Cotto was confident. Ortiz Ghost had fake confidence. I think Hatton was confident as well. I think this will be a tough fight for Floyd and he could very well lose.
