The welterweight division has 4 pretty good champions at the moment. I can't remember a time where there were 4 champs this good.
WBC: Floyd Mayweather
WBO: Tim Bradley
IBF: Devon Alexander
WBA: Adrien Broner
Keith Thurman is no joke and is coming up for a title shot fast. Floyd probably won't defend the title until next May. Bradley will have his title on the line soonest in October against one of the great JMM. Broner seems poised to defend Nov 9th hard punching Marcos Maidana. Devon Alexander doesn't have anything concrete but may have a tussle with Amir Khan in December. Who gets beat first?
I think all three Alexander, Bradley, Broner will all win there upcoming fights. Assuming Alexander fights khan and Broner Maidana. Bradley has the toughest fight out there right now. But im puling for him to win.
Answer: whoever ends up fighting Floyd first will lose first.
I thinks there's a decent chance of at least 1 of Bradley, Devon or Broner losing their title. In all 3 fights there is an argument for either man winning.
I know it's not until December but Alexander is going to handle Khan.
Amir Khan's time is over. The boy doesn't love boxing like he probably should and loves his hand-speed too much.
They both have terribly predictable offenses that depend on working off the jab but I give Alexander the edge based upon him showing he can handle himself a bit on the inside and being way more accustomed to fighting righties than Khan is lefties.
I have to say Bradley runs the greatest risk. That's a toss-up fight to me right now. If Marquez comes in ready to wrestle a little bit for room to get his combinations off, he can make Bradley look really bad.
I'd say Alexander had the biggest chance of losing it. I can see Bradley outworking Marquez, assuming he doesn't come into the fight like he did against Provodnikov. Broner vs Maidana kind seems like an easy fight for Broner, stylistcally speaking.
Both Alexander and Khan both fought at 140 but I'd argue that Khan fought the better opposition. I see Khan beating him by UD. :boxing:
I agree. I think Bradley makes the style adjustment necessary to avoid the big punch from Marquez. I agree about Maidana being tailor made for Broner & feel that fight could be the one sided fight of the 3 if Broner's chin holds up. bradley-marquez to me is 50/50 and i won't be suprised with a decision either way but i just pick bradley inching past him with activity. khan-alexander another fight i can see going either way but i think khan's chin holds up and he gets the decision. if alexander outhustles him i will only be mildly suprised just cuz of how the bradley fight turned out for him. i've never seen anyone beat khan on workrate but i wouldn't put it past devon.

Bradley. Marquez is going to put him to sleep.
I'm a huge Bradley fan but he has the biggest chance of losing his title first seeing as he has the toughest fight of the three fighters competing at welterweight. With that said I'm still picking him over Marquez, but that is one tough fight!!
Maidana's style is almost tailor-made for Broner. Malignaggi gave him a lot of trouble with his activity and boxing skills, Maidana is a come-forward guy and that should feed into Broner's hand speed.
Alexander is a good boxer and I don't think he'll be killed by Khan's speed or anything. He's more acclimated to welterweight than Khan is and it's unlikely that his chin collapses against Khan's power.
I think Bradley is a better boxer than either Broner or Alexander, but let's not forget that he is facing a tougher opponent than either of those two!

Bradley loses to JMM
Alexander loses to Khan.
Broner loses to Maidana (maybe).
Floyd keeps his belt; he's fighting at 154 for a rematch with nelito
we will have to wait and see. its possible they all retain as well and then things would really get interesting.
Alexander is the weakest link. Broner, Mayweather, and obviously Bradley whip him. He doesnt have heart. Guerrero will whip him, not to mention Ortiz, Pac, and Ortiz.
I think the point you make about the other 3 champions beating broner at this stage is true. And if these 4 made a tournament as suggested it would be epic.

so far alot of people picking devon to be the first to lose a strap. even got a pick for broner to lose first. so far bradley and floyd are looking like beasts in this thread
jmm doesnt have a belt?
nope bradley lifted the strap from pacman before jmm put him to sleep. bradley will be carrying the WBO strap he got from pac into the jmm clash.
I'm thinking he fights Kahn if he wins. I'd like to see the match against maidana but I don't see it happening. He'll have to knock out broner cuz he ain't gettin the decision, and broner is a big boy even at ww
i actually definitely can see floyd fighting khan if he gets by alexander. i'd actually want to see that fight because it could get very interesting if floyd doesn't score the KO. I agree Floyd's next fight could be Lucas if alexander gets by khan though. i would watch floyd fight alexander though and alot of people that say they wouldn't buy that fight would end up watching it because at the end of the day alexanders talent is unquestionable. beating khan would only validate that for devon.
Floyd isn't fighting Alexander guiz. No one wants to see that fight. Imo he will fight the Matthysse-Garcia winner or Maidana if he beats Broner.
