manny never had his way with marquez.... ever.
your right but his best success vs him was when he opened up
barrera and marquez are both naturally aggressive fighters, so they gave manny opportunities by engaging..... MAB looked to counter in the rematch and manny was just too busy and fast, if manny was to just throw one shot and try and box, mab would eat him up
the same thing happened with morales.... in their first fight morales put on a clinic, but when he engaged he gave manny his moments of success....
floyd's shoulder injury was a major reason for castillo's limited success.
the reason i said that was.... check manny's output vs. the one true counter puncher he ever faced.... marquez.... it always halves....
he fought guys like margarito, threw a 1000 punches, always only managed 500 or so against marquez.... because of caution.... it's what happens....
the same thing happens to all floyd's opponents.... they throw less, because they're very aware of his prowess.
You make some valid points about output,, all im trying to say is that if you dont let your hands go, you stand no chance vs floyd,,, sitting there and looking for a counter and playing it safe will make you look foolish, just ask jmm, shane, ghost, all guys that didnt open up on floyd and tried to box
aint no one outboxing floyd
floyd the fraud knows the result if he fought the pacman of 2007 - 2009. even a swimming pool full of peds (xylocaine) won't save him from the humiliation he's gonna get from fighting the midget.
that's the reason why he ducked pac like a plaque.
I voted for Canelo. I think he will beat Mayweather and he has done something Pacquiao could not do. Get Mayweather to sign the contract to fight him. I think the 2009 Pacquiao had a good chance to defeat Mayweather with his speed, power, footwork, work rate and unusual punching angles so Mayweather avoided him.
you don't throw combos against a slick counter puncher.
you dont want to throw one shot either,,, high workrate and punches in bunches/ volume punching bothers counter guys...
JLC threw all the time vs floyd and had success
MAB and JMM are both counter punchers, and manny had his way with them except for the 4th jmm, he did well but got reckless and ko'd. the 3rd jmm fight manny looked to box and jmm beat him IMO....
Manny being aggressive and throwing alot would be his best option..
Clottey was a counter puncher and would shell up til you stopped punching and then fire off a counter like he did vs margs, corrales, judah, but manny never stopped punching so clottey could never get off a great counter
Calzaghe's workrate bothered hopkins
Jirov bothered toney with his workrate...
If you dont throw combo's and let your hands go, you have no chance of winning,,,
Nobody is going to outbox floyd,,,, you have to outfight him and be busier,,, trying to land one shot will and being patient will not work vs floyd,, you will just end up looking ghost or ortiz or shane or all the others..
hatton, cotto, oscar, jlc all had the most competitive fights vs floyd and all let their hands go....
Letting your hands go like manny does would have been better than sitting there trying to outbox floyd...
aint no one outboxing floyd over 12 rounds
I think Floyd stops '09 Pacquiao also, but I think Manny would have a better chance than Canelo because at least Manny throws a lot of punches. A "puncher's chance" is diminished even further when the puncher has a low work rate. Canelo needs to step up the punch output in order to be competitive against Floyd.
I would say the juiced manny that destroyed hatton and cotto would have been a much bigger threat than canelo
Manny:
can match speed and maybe alittle faster combos
power punching
southpaw
Experience- he already had big fights with MAB,JMM,Morales,Hatton, Cotto
Canelo:
Bigger than floyd
younger
has limited skills and movement
fights in spurts
has only one big fight vs trout
punchers chance
I think its manny by a landslide,,
I think floyd beats both, but manny would be a tougher out
I'm not even sure Canelo beats Pacquiao now (at 152). I'd favour Canelo to beat him, but I wouldn't be 100% on it.

Caleno because Floyd is farther down the path thus extra slippage make his chances of success higher.
Manny never had a prayer given his skill set and the advantages FLoyd wiuld hold in most areas.
I will say Manny. Manny has great offense supported by above avergae speed and power but can't cutoff the ring, has bad balance, below average defense and drops his hand when pressing for a KO.
09 Manny for sure:
Manny was already a battle tested vet on the big stage. His foot and hand speed would be an obvious problem. Not to mention the punching power plus he has the ability to force the exchanges' with Floyd. And his body was conditioned to go a hard 12 rounds. Canelo still fights in spurts.
09' Manny. Speed, combination punching, chin, angles, foot speed, footwork, stamina, power, always game through 12 rounds.
You guys can call Manny a brawler all you want, but honestly, he would've been Floyd's toughest fight in his entire career.
No one on his resume combines all the attributes that Manny does.
