Catchweight Complainers

I don't like it when a champion defends his title at a weight below the standard limit. I never have and I never will. As a champion I think he has an obligation to defend his title at the full weight limit of the weight class he is the champion of. If the champion defends his title at less than the full limit as a favor to a smaller fighter as Whitaker did when he defended his welterweight title against the 140 pound champion Chavez at a top weight of 145 I guess that is OK. Mayweather defending his 154 pound title against a full sized challenger like Canelo at 152 is wrong in my opinion. Is he the 154 pound champion of the world or the 152 pound champion of the world? Which is it? Leonard did the same thing to Hearns and Duran when he defended his 168 pound world title at a top weight of 164 pounds. The champion should not be allowed to change the weight limit of the weight class he is champion of. No in actuality canelo should be the 170 pound champ lol because that's his natural weight so is that not wrong?

The titles is irrelevant to the fight , its about the guys themselves and the size relationships between them , all your trying to do is use titles like it makes the fight different , well then if that's the case you better get on Manny for forcing Cotto to 145 CW for the WT after he fought before and after Cotto at 147 , Im sure Cotto did not want 145 . Same for Margo , Manny fought him for a 154 title at 150 , and he is bigger than Canelo . Floyd would have been the one asking for the CW , he may have used Canelo saying he would fight Floyd at 150 as a springboard , but Canelo would want the 154 limit if it were up to him . But your right about Canelo having many things on his side and he is definitely much bigger than Floyd , this is not an old shop warn fighter Floyd is facing , but much bigger younger fast hungry unbeaten dual World Champion , Floyd shouldn't be bagged for this fight , you will not find a boxing connected guy not giving Floyd props for this fight , but in here this is fanboy city , real boxing talk is rare its all just hate , every thread no matter what any fighter does , all you got in here is factions hating on somebody . I don't give a schit what some tuber says. Two guys that have belts at 154 should both be fighting at 154. If you can't fight at that weight, then you shouldn't have a belt there, now that's what logic is, that's why there are weight classes, smh at trying to justify catchweights.

Floyd/Marquez was a catchweight fight. Floyd couldn't make the catchweight so he threw money at the problem. And if Canelo has any trouble he will too !
