On Episode 3 last night, they stated that they NEVER said anything about a catch-weight of 152 or such. Basically that team Mayweather requested it. Now we all have seen the thread of Canelo stating they would come down to 152 or 151 for the fight. So is this basically them stating that don't believe everything you see on BoxingScene? That offer was two years ago, Floyd passed it up to fight someone else in 2011. Floyd is the one who wanted the catchweight now, during negotiations in 2013. Canelo and his team could've played it off much better. Should've showed them more confidence in the catch weight. I have read boxing scene top headlines daily for years. As a big Canelo fan I have followed the negotiations for this fight very carefully. In 2011 when Canelo could make a lighter weight Team Canelo offered to fight Mayweather at a catchweight of 152 pounds and that is where Ellerbie gets this from. In the 2013 negotiations for this fight Team Mayweather wanted Canelo to fight Floyd at the welterweight limit of 147. Team Canelo refused and said the fight must be at the Jr. middleweight limit of 154. With Schaefer trying hard to get the fight made and almost a month of negotiations both sides agreed on a compromise weight of 152. There was never any way in hell Floyd was going to fight Canelo at 154. If anybody can show me anything from boxing scene or any other boxing site where team Canelo started the 2013 negotiations with an offer to fight at 152 I will retract this. Canelo agreed finally to fight at 152 as a last resort because it was that or no fight. As for Canelo's body language showing he was angry about what Ellerbie said, of course he was angry because Ellerbie is lying and calling his team idiots. Unless you consider something that was offered in 2011 has anything to do with the 2013 negotiations for this fight Ellerbie is the liar and team Canelo is telling the truth. You're really REACHING with this thread and your commentary. First off, Ellerbe never said Canelo said, he said his MANAGEMENT said it. Obviously you didn't read the article in question or pay attention to what Ellerbe said. Canelo's manager made the comments in January 2012 prior to the Cotto fight. That was long before the Mayweather negotiations started in May of this year, but Team Mayweather used those comments against him, since the manager said he would go down to 150 in order to land Mayweather. all that needs to be said is here^^^ Posters like Lovci need to be banned for trolling
