Mayweather idolizes ODLH and everything he has accomplished....he aspires to be like him. He envies Oscar; the looks, the gold medal, the fame, the beautiful females who followed him, the respect and adulation he receives from people, the successful and reputable company he owns, the fortune, the incredible career, the beautiful wife. He wants all those things. I can't help but feel bad for him in that regards.

At the time he retired Oscar's net worth was estimated at $175 million. That's net worth that he had in liquid assets, not counting any investments he had as well.
He still makes a ton promoting and still has endorsements in the US and some Foreign endorsements that he still makes money on.
Yes, ODL has more wealth than Floyd. That $250 million figure is a net figure, he will not gross anywhere near that. Haymon takes his cut, Golden Boy (and Oscar) gets theirs, Ellerbe gets his, has Daddy and Uncle will get paid. Plus with the way Floyd spends it there is a good chance he will blow through a lot of that a few years after he retires. Why do you think he is finally being so active?

sounds about right
in the second episode of all accses floyd kept talkin bad about oscar but i too get that feelin he wants to be just like oscar. I also get the feelin all those leeches surrounding floyd are just in there for the crums that fall off the table. maybe floyd is afraid of bein alone and lets certain things slide. and i hope canelo beats the brakes off floyd.......
Just when you thought you heard it all before, this guy, comes along and says he doesn't believe Oscar De La fvcking Hoya, has more money than Floyd Mayweather Jr.OK A hole, you tell me how much money Oscar has and how much money Floyd has since you seem to think it's important to know who is the richest of two multi millionairs. How much is Oscar worth? How much is Floyd worth? If you don't know then don't make fun of me you stupid jackass.
I wouldn't say idolise, but Floyd almost certainly envies Oscar's wealth and popularity.
He's richer than Floyd and much more well-liked person, and Floyd is all too aware of it.
It burns Oscar that Floyd beat him though, and he openly admits it.

Mayweather is likely looking at a guarantee of around $200 million for the six-fight deal. Pay-per-view revenues will push that total past $250 million then add that to his current net worth in 2014-15 he will be the "Half-a-Billionaire" Boxer.
The only thing that Floyd ever envied about Dlh was his paydays, and that's because of Arum and how he was holding Floyd on the back burner. Every fighter wants to make the money a star peer is making or fight that peer. They don't envy the LIFE of another boxer. Only an armchair thinks that.

Oscar was a good fighter, and a nice guy, but he ain't Floyd. Never has been, never will be.

He probably does have a higher net worth then Oscar.
If Floyd idolizes Oscar he is doing one hell of a job of covering that up. I get the impression he hates Oscar. He talk about Oscar in the worst possible way. I am not sure Oscar has more money than Mayweather. I heard Floyd has well over 100 million bucks just in his checking account and he has that 200million dollar deal with Showtime. I think Mayweather is proud and happy to be who he is and does not idolize or envy Oscar.

idk, it makes sense in some regard. Floyd hangs with some questionable types no doubt.
I will say however, I felt the strongest urge to punch JLeon Love in the throat everytime he opened his goddamn mouth up on All Access. Cheatin sumb1tch.
Then you must really hate Eric Morales too huh?
As huge fan of both you can say both idolizes each other; Oscar wanted to acclaim Floyd has as a fighter; Floyd wanted the money and fame Oscar had. But reality is they can't stand each other but are smart enough to not let those feelings get in the way of business.

That's how I see it too and I kind feel bad for him because of that. I think behind closed doors he may be a good guy sans the DV incidents, I can tell he loves his children and is there for them and I commend him for that. I honestly believe though that he really covets what ODLH has, and as a result he acts out negatively. I think that more than being a "bad guy", he is an insecure guy.

He could use some humility. His whole loud mouth bragging family and team could use some humility.

Floyd talks ish about Oscar, but he should thank him for giving him a shot at super stardom and helping him out by letting Mayweather "Promotions" piggy back off Golden Boy Promotions. Lets not forget, Oscar was the A-side!
That's all iim saying too. Also can't stand the leeches he hangs around with.
