At the time he retired Oscar's net worth was estimated at $175 million. That's net worth that he had in liquid assets, not counting any investments he had as well. He still makes a ton promoting and still has endorsements in the US and some Foreign endorsements that he still makes money on. Yes, ODL has more wealth than Floyd. That $250 million figure is a net figure, he will not gross anywhere near that. Haymon takes his cut, Golden Boy (and Oscar) gets theirs, Ellerbe gets his, has Daddy and Uncle will get paid. Plus with the way Floyd spends it there is a good chance he will blow through a lot of that a few years after he retires. Why do you think he is finally being so active?

in the second episode of all accses floyd kept talkin bad about oscar but i too get that feelin he wants to be just like oscar. I also get the feelin all those leeches surrounding floyd are just in there for the crums that fall off the table. maybe floyd is afraid of bein alone and lets certain things slide. and i hope canelo beats the brakes off floyd....... I wouldn't say idolise, but Floyd almost certainly envies Oscar's wealth and popularity. He's richer than Floyd and much more well-liked person, and Floyd is all too aware of it. It burns Oscar that Floyd beat him though, and he openly admits it.

As huge fan of both you can say both idolizes each other; Oscar wanted to acclaim Floyd has as a fighter; Floyd wanted the money and fame Oscar had. But reality is they can't stand each other but are smart enough to not let those feelings get in the way of business.

That's how I see it too and I kind feel bad for him because of that. I think behind closed doors he may be a good guy sans the DV incidents, I can tell he loves his children and is there for them and I commend him for that. I honestly believe though that he really covets what ODLH has, and as a result he acts out negatively. I think that more than being a "bad guy", he is an insecure guy.
