Cotto...Sucked at 154 had less power. and has been on the decline.
Ortiz...He sucker punched him to win.
Mosley old and past his prime.
JMM was a blown up SFW lmfao...went up 3 divisions
Hatton was slow and no good at 147. Couldnt even beat Collazo lol
those are the Facts you over looked. Yes he faced guys that could pull the trigger, but not into their advantage.
Cotto wasn't forced to go to 154, it was his choice so who are you to say that? Plus that less power theory might hold weight if we were talking about him vs other 154lbrs but were talking about a 147lbr. The logic has to go across the board...not just for your agenda.
biggest overall puncher.
Who do you think hits harder overall? Cotto, De La Hoya, and Mosley are the only 3 IMO that you can make a case for. Ortiz's power at WW looks suspect against a small Josesito Lopez last time out, yes he hurt Berto, but so did JSK and he is no big puncher.
Are people forgetting baldomir he might of been a c class skill guy but he packed a pretty solid punch .. I would say corralles , judah , delahoya , Ortiz
Baldomir was a piss weak puncher. He was known for being a very light puncher his whole career.
Oscar & Mosley by far, both had killer left hooks. I feel like most people here can't identify true power. Comparing Judah/Hatton to Oscar/Mosley in terms of power is a joke.
Canelo will probably be the hardest puncher that Floyd has ever faced. The kid naturally has heavy hands, plus he is a very technically sound boxer with good speed.
i think these people have a real problem in defining or determining superior punching power.
either that or they don't like canelo alvarez.
alvarez is not a massive 154 lb puncher. tito trinidad, julian jackson, tommy hearns, these are tnt punchers at 154. alvarez is the only true, career jr MW that mayweather has fought. he has what i'd call "good / very good" power.
oscar was a very big puncher in his prime, but by the time he fought mayweather he had broken his hands so badly that he was reduced often to throwing flurries without sitting on punches.
mosley hit mayweather with a couple of bombs. shane could always punch.
and ortiz was a good puncher as well, if a complete bonehead.
the alvarez that mayweather is about to fight punches harder than all three of those guys.
Totally agree with this post. I don't get how Alvarez isn't the biggest puncher he's ever faced.
Judah punches harder than Alvarez?

Show how desperate some fans are...they are now overrating the **** out of Canelo's Power
Zab Judah? Zab might be a lot of things but that Left Hand till this day is still dangerous, Mosley even a older Mosley was able to hurt and STOP Margarito and we know Margarito probably has one of the greatest chins in boxing History. Diego Corrales, he was the favorite over Mayweather because of his "SIZE AND POWER" (Sounds Familiar?) Also Victor Ortiz? He might be a weird dude but he does pack a punch and if he catches you he can do damage
I understand many of you are probably 14 years old and is just on this forum to Troll for attention but DO YOUR FUKIN HOMEWORK
Canelo Power is Good...NOT GREAT, it is not One Punch Power or none of that BS like people are trying to hype it up to be. Josesito coming from 140 was able to get up multiple times form that "POWER" SMH...
When you don't know Boxing you just REACH for any little thing to Build Confidence Upon I GUESS lol

Probably Canelo by default (size and does hit fairly hard for 154)
P4p, one punch? I'd have it a weird tie between Corrales, Oscar, Shane and Gatti who did have underrated fight changing type power imo. Zab has pop but he wont murder a mofo like these other guys could (as beautiful as his left upper is)
The only one to ever do it after he got busted for cheating. Great win, but Margarito was mentally fucked before he came into the ring.
If Canleo and Mosley hit something that could measure the force of their hardest shot, I think Canelo's would be harder. But on resume, Mosley is going to dominate a 23 year old when he has been world class almost since Alvarez was born.
This, and I don't even like Margarito. People also love to forget that the 40 year old Mosley was 15 months removed from his win over Margarito when he fought Mayweather.
P4P aside I feel Canelo will be the hardest puncher Mayweather has ever faced; partly because of the size differential. If Canelo lands clean, Mayweather will definitely feel it.
u seem to seriously underestimate shanes power then. he put margarito on his ass, kocked ricardo mayorga out cold, and tkoed vargas twice. he had enough power to make de la hoya and winky wright respect him at both weights. seriously theres no question for me. shane is a true power puncher. he hits harder than canelo imo.

How so? Knowing the biggest overall puncher, not P4P wise, shows he dealt with their punch, if they landed. Mosley did, and he definitely felt. Corrales couldn't touch him. That's relative too.
I highly doubt Mosley would ever put Austin Trout down and hurt him like Canelo did.

well asking the question the other way makes no sense. its all about context. and in the proper context, canelo is clearly not the answer. and even a 147 mosely probably punches harder than canelo honestly.
