I'm pretty sure Hatton would manhandle Garcia. Danny couldn't do a damn thing as Hatton got inside over and over.
Matthysse's a closer call. I'm still not sure if he could match Hatton's strength inside. If he could, he'd win. If not, Hatton wins.
I dont care how many losses Garcia doesnt have yet, he's crap and it wont be long before we are laughing at having him in fantasy fights.
Hatton smokes Garcia
Matthysse i would probably bet on beating Hatton by KO or Hatton to win on points
I'd call Garcia a toss up and LM stops him late on cuts.
This site seems to severely overestimate Hatton. Does anyone remember the Collazo fight? Hatton was really a Frank Warren matchmaking masterpiece. Yes, he was a decent fighter. But he wasn't elite by any stretch of he imagination.
I started following his career maybe a year before the Eamonn Magee fight, since he was making so much noise in the UK and I never saw anything impressive about him at all. I've yet to come across any reasonable argument for elevating him to elite status.
Don't get me wrong. This isn't anti UK in any way. Just calling it how I saw it.
I might be in the minority in saying this but I think both beat Ricky...
This^^^^^^^^^
Richard gets iced by BOTH Imo......I see Richard had alot of dudes gassed.....he wasn't that good imo
Does either Garcia or Matthysse have an inside game? If they have I haven't seen it and without one, they're not beating Ricky Hatton.
There's no fighter either Lucas or Danny has beaten that Hatton wouldn't dispose with.
Hatton would take him to the ropes and work him over. Garcia isn't beating or outworking Hatton. Hell I'm not even sure he could outbox him in the centre of the ring. Garcia would have a puncher's chance.
Matthysse has a much better chance of beating Hatton due to his 1-punch power in both hands but if the likes of Olusegun and Alexander are going 10-12 rounds with him, best believe a prime Hatton would too. He would smother Matthysse's work.
Agreed.
Hatton had this underrated ability to be 2 or 3 steps away from his opponent then all of a sudden hes smashing them with body shots. He had very underrated foot speed and it always threw the opponents rhythm off. If you watch the Mayweather fight, it seemed like it took Mayweather a while to adjust.
I think everyone forgets that Hatton was quite great at spoiling an opponents style. He would constantly disrupt an opponents rhythm, hold them, rough them up on the inside. Very seldom did Hatton allow his opponents to get off. Aside from A++ elite fighters like Pac and Floyd, no one could really overtake Hatton's generalship and pace-setting style. He was very high energy, physically strong. I've followed quit a bit of his career, and the leverage he was able to garner on a lot of his attack to the body is very note-worthy.
I honestly feel he walks through Garcia. I have yet to see a fight (outside of Morales II) that Garcia was able to take full grasp on the pace and able to make his opponent fight his fight. And honestly, I don't think he has enough power or precision to keep him from coming in and taking absolute control. I mean, he took some freaking monstrous shots from Tszyu and walked straight through them. But, all everyone remembers from Ricky are the fights with Mayweather and Pacquiao, which I think is a bit unfair.
But, against Matthysse, I feel it plays out a lot like Matthysse-Soto
I don't know, I want to see more of Garcia and Lucas to really make my mind up
At the moment I am not sold on both fighters, however after Sep we will know which one is the real deal out of the two
Hatton was damn devastating until Floyd finished his career
He had power and speed and great work rate.
Lucas power however looks very scary, not sure if Hatton would want to go to toe to toe with that, but then again I don't know how good Lucas is, knocking out Peterson wasn't really a great achievement, given Khan (who desont hit hard) floored him twice
I think both Lucas and Garcia might be a tad overrated
Does either Garcia or Matthysse have an inside game? If they have I haven't seen it and without one, they're not beating Ricky Hatton.

Anybody thinks that Hatton would get the Pacquiao treatment if caught by the GARSH?
Hatton would take him to the ropes and work him over. Garcia isn't beating or outworking Hatton. Hell I'm not even sure he could outbox him in the centre of the ring. Garcia would have a puncher's chance.

Prime Hatton ....perhaps would beat both. He was just relentless and wouldn't let either guy get off. His body work would take the steam out of these power hitters.
People like to think Hatton was just a plodding fighter but he really had some pretty fast feet.
I love how people say at 147 Hatton loses to both easily but at 140 oh it's a different story. Remind me of how good Garcia and Lucas look at 147 again?
Does anyone know the score cards for Mayweather Hatton before the KO.
Very much in favor of Floyd. some people said that the fight was a draw when the KO happened, thats bs I believe floyd had all but one round in that fight on the scorecards! you can check boxrec im too lazy lol
Ricky vs Garcia would end in a UD for Ricky, unless Garcia can land the GARSH... He can probably stop Hatton with the GARSH
Ricky vs Matthysse... Its interesting, but my money would be on Ricky by decision... But I think Matthysse can hurt Ricky at any time... I really don't know, but like I said, I'd bet on Ricky by decision
