I've been watching this fight over and over again so let me break something down for you.
In round one Lamont controlled the pace and Lucas only landed one descent punch, I gave that round to Lamont because of this.
In round 2 it started to look like more of the same with Lamont controlling the pace and the distance, then starting @ 2:10 of the 2nd round Lucas lands a punch to the back of Lamont's head followed by a vicious right hand to the back of the head and then 2 more for good measure, after these punches Lamont was never the same and could no longer control the pace or the space between them. Even though Lamont complained about it to Smoger he did nothing about it and you guys saw what happened. That's like getting punched in the d*ck 3 times and not given time to recover. It was dirty and I hope who ever the Ref is for the Danny fight doesn't allow this to happen. This isn't the first fight that Lucas as used this dirty tactic either.
Lucas beat him by whacking him to death with his hook
Lucas is an unjustly bashed fighter around here these days
don't see what's there about him to nitpick
he's on a tear right now but gets the business
Peterson "beat" Khan by steroid tablets and ref help. Gets KO against Matthysse and still keeps his belt. The absolute worst title holder in the sport.
I like Lucas , but thats one critique i have to give him, he needs to stop the rabbit punching, almost everyfight he tries to sneak some punches behind the head.
And it's irritating to cheap shot fighters in back of the head, Especially coming from a puncher like Mathysse who shouldn't need to resort to that type of thing.
After all is said, Mathysse was going to beat Pederson reagardless.

No. :bottle:
Lamont was put in submission.
Matthysse fights to win. If he broke the rules it's up to the ref to put a stop to it. Haye is another fighter who hits fighters behind the head on the neck. If something works and the ref lets the fighter do it most fighters will keep on doing it. Matthysse is a damn good fighter in my opinion. I think he KOs both Peterson and Garcia with or without illegal rabbit punches. He throws lots of punches so maybe the punches to the back of the head were not intentional fouls.

THAT'S when I thought Peterson's plan went out the window. Especially after that LAST left hook landed. He seemed to have felt it.

PEDerson won the first round, my ass.
Matthysse was the only one who landed decent punches.
When I was there it seemed like he did but when I rewatched the fight... yea he didn't win jack. Lol

Its funny that people complain about this NOW but before the fight they questioned Lucas' inside game.
"He's never faced anyone who pushed him on the inside"
"How will he react when he gets mauled on the inside by the bigger guy"
Oh yea and nowadays they claim Lucas was actually the bigger guy. :lol1:
They also claimed PEDerson would box circles around him...

Those same people are STILL waiting for Lucas' downfall.
I mean ****, you weren't convinced after he stopped Soto. Weren't convinced when he train wrecked Ajose. Still couldn't get no love when he 1 shot KOd a game Mike Dallas Jr. The same guy that Dwyer was saying would be a stylistic mismatch for a guy like Lucas. LMFAO. Beat the dog piss outta PEDerson and STILL say he's overrated, and is all hype.
He'd have to change his skin color and fight like Pernell to get any love from certain haters on this site.

:lol1: i forgot that... I remember the 'Peterson will outbox him' posts but these i forgot.
Matthysse was using a common tactic used by guys who are being held, he tried to drag his body off the other guy and shoot a shot to side of the head. Sometimes it lands clean other times it hits the back of the head... There is one very simple way to avoid this which is stop holding.
Peterson stopped trying to box on the outside because the tactic wasnt working. He was still getting tagged with hard punches, he couldnt establish his jab and he got knocked down hard. Afterwards he went to his go to 'adjustment' (same as he did when he was getting worked by Khan early) and tried to get inside and brawl. Matthysse isnt Khan though and Peterson got viciously knocked out.
