Both Danny Garcia and Lucas Mathysee are good boxers and good punchers but Marthysee has more one shot KO Power. However, Danny Garcia has better technique and is also the better boxer.
This is why i strongly believe Danny Garcia will pull off a gruelling win similar to his win in the first Morales fight. I dont expect an early stoppage from Garcia but for him to win after 12 exciting rounds or by late stoppage. If Marthysee has a chance of getting a highlight reel KO, it will have to be in the early rounds in my opinion.
I also think Danny Garcia's chin is strong enough to carry him into the late rounds for the victory. Garcia's performance in the Judah victory shows that he has a good right hand and good attacks to the body. Judah was slick enough to take away danny's jab and his monster left hook but it will come into effect in the marthysee fight.
It would not surprise me if Marthysee scores a brutal KO on Garcia but i favour Danny Garcia in their Fight. P.S. Can't wait
Danny's only chance for a KO is early, while Lucas is still warming up... Other than that, he has to get a decision
Matthysse can KO him at anytime, especially late, as that is when he's at his best, while Garcia is always at his worst
The biggest difference between Garcia and Alexander/Judah... Footspeed, Garcia is as flatfooted as they come
yeah I never thought about the footspeed of Danny definitely flatfooted.tyat might be Danny's downfall
Typically, he starts fast in the first three rounds of each fight.
true true, can't argue with that, I think he works depending the pace of the fight/opponent though, if Danny jumps on him early it could work in Matthysse's favour, but I do also agree the time window is shallow, and in the first 2/3 rounds are Danny's best chances to make an impression on Lucas, it's a double edged sword, and it's stuff like this that makes the fight interesting

Danny Garcia dominated both Erik Morales and Zab Judah. As a matter of fact he floored them both for a combined three times with one of them coming by way of KO.
Remember typically, Zab is a fast starter but came on strong later in that fight, due to Garcia's; Who is typically a slow starter, fast start in the earlier rounds which threw off Judah's timing. However, by the tenth round, Zab seem to find his rhythm and appeared to hurt Danny for the first time in the bout which forced Garcia to start backing up.
I'll say this one thing though. If Danny Garcia start faster in his fight against Lucas Matthysse like he did against Judah then he'll stand a much better chance of winning than if he let's Lucas get off to fast start.
Garci arguably lost his first fight vs Morales. A lot of people had it a draw or Morales winning. And there's a reason why Judah started off slow, he was 36 years old coming off a 1 year layoff. How convenient was Garcia's rib "injury" huh?
But I agree with most of your post tho.

I don't think Lucas will get off to a fast start. He's never done so in any matches I've seen, atleast not the very first round.

So what is your prediction for this fight? Do you see Matthysse defeating Garcia by way of first round knockout?
50%, Matthysse KOs Garcia before round 5
30% Matthysse KOs Garica after round 5
20% Garcia KOs Matthyyse

For our sakes, my only wish is that this fight turns into another Hagler/Hearns type brawl; In order to determine which fighter is the strongest, toughest and which one of them has the most punching power and better chin.
I'm with you on that one.

Garcia's power is overrated as hell. He has what? 60% KO ratio?
Lets look at Garcia's KO ration in the last 2 years.
Garcia? 33%.
Matthysse? 100%.
Sorry but that's not exactly impressive stopping power. The hook that KO Khan landed on his neck and he still got up (granted, he was done by then) but he had landed that hook on Khan several times and Khan was still picking him appart, and its not as if Khan has an iron chin.
Matthysse was the "first" of lots of boxers, first losses, firt KD, first KO. Who did Danny KO that hadnt been KOd before? Khan has been KO before and KD several times. Same for old Morales.
Matthysse has sent every single one of his opponents to the canvas at least once, many for the first time in their career.
Matthysse has a better record of opponents than Garcia. Khan (in a fight he was clearly losing until a lucky KO) and an old Morales as your only real fights shouldnt be anything to brag about. So what is your prediction for this fight? Do you see Matthysse defeating Garcia by way of first round knockout?
Ok before I answer that question. Please answer me this question. Since when has Lucas Matthysse, challenged an opponent in a ring with the caliber of Danny Garcia's punching power and chin? Because his only notable win to this day is Lamont Peterson.

Damn, you are emotional when it comes to Lucas huh? Looking forward to your excuses on the 14th.
I'm emotional cause i pointed out how stupid your post was?
You're trying to gague this dude's power cause he stopped a guy who went the distance with Lopez. Not only did Garcia fight him 4 years later but he had already been stopped by Ortiz.

DeMarcus Corley
Danny isn't the better boxer.
Lucas is the better boxer... with a better chin and more power AND has no fear of the man he is about to face.
Danny career summary: Amir Khan comes in with an uppercut Danny throws his best left hook while praying to jebus.. it lands and the rest is history.
Lucas's career summary: Destruction
Danny has done nothing to impress me... his skill is subtly good... but not good enough.
I think people are under estimating Danny's boxing skill. He is one of the only fighters I've ever seen steal the first four rounds from a Judah that came in very prepared. Even Judah looked surprised.
I still think Lucas wins though.

This right here.
Apparently the OP has a very loose understanding of the concept of likelihood. Lucas is much more likely to beat Danny than the other way around.

Sort of.
Danny has better fundamentals than Alvarado, on the other hand Matthysse has a much better ring IQ than Rios. It could be a Rios vs Alvarado at a higher level.
Not that I'd bet my house on this outcome, but if I was asked how Danny Garcia could win, that's his best option imo.
Alvarado was very disciplined in that fight. He knew when to box and move and he knew when to exchange and for how long. Garcia needs a page put of Alvarado's book if you ask me.

What you don't seem to understand is that it's more about the right opportunity and not so much the punch. Garcia KO'd Arnoutis who went 12 rounds with Ricardo Torres. Does not mean Garcia bangs harder than Torres...
The right punch at the right moment.
Are you from Argentina?
