Floyd hasnt ever Beaten A prime hall of famer.
Most his fights are vs b minus level and c level fighters.
Part time fighters, fighters off layoffs and
Hand picked. Fighters not at their best weight.
Washed up , never was , was never gonna be 's.
Floy isba great looking talent. But a talent that never got tested
Due to supposed retirements , ducks, dodges and some avoiding
And lies .
The OP gotta stop hyping up floyd jr to more then he really is.
He got paid and then held boxing hostage.
Fights the ghost , ortiz and baldomirs. And those are the guys that were
At their peaks. But so limited.
Most good fighters woul be undefeated if they kept fighting slow flat footed fighters. And not faster slicker fighters
hindsight is a great thing, it lets you delude those ignorant enough to buy into your diatribes.
like the poster above me ... always knew that floyd was overly skilled and tough in there but since defensively he is a master, i'd never seen him have to take a huge punch, until that mosley right in the 2nd round.
he took it like a man, cleared the cobwebs and then proceeded to pound on mosley something vicious.
so simply, yes, he took a devastating right hand and came back to dole out a one-sided beating; won my respect.
I"ll admit....I thought Floyd was soft but too skilled to ever have that so called
flaw exposed....I found out that dude got some bottle(as the Brits say)
Shane is My 2nd all time fav Fighter right behind B.Hop so I had Shane picked to win by KO....I felt like Shane was gonna bring the b!tch up outta the boy...but Floyd proved to be THEE man and erased any doubts I had regarding his toughness....dude came up BIG TIME in my book....one of the few fighters I have the utmost respect for.....that's what that round did to my opinion of Money May.....bull is a special breed!!!

I'm lost. Why are you mentioning Margarito? Second, there are no excuses as to why Shane lost to Floyd-none!
Lol you misunderstood my post.
Here goes.
You mentioned something about what elite fighters on Floyd's level he's stopped and I said if you're a Floyd hater, you'd count Margarito (You know the guys...the ones who claim Marg would have taken the "duckin" Floyd's soul).
Then I said Shane gassing could he attributed to over training as he was never known to fatigue to that extent. Hell its rare to see anyone get that tired so he could have both over trained and just been plain old. Being old isn't an excuse. It's real. The Mora fight practically confirmed it (incase his actual age didnt >__> )
Imagine a prime Mosley, juiced up as he was against Oscar, if he would have buckled Mayweather like that closer to his prime he would've taken Mayweather into deeper water.
IF Canelo lands clean on Floyd, I see Floyd wobbling. He isn't used to taking flush shots, and Canelo has the speed, accuracy, power and combination punching to test him. He just lacks that consistent energy and stamina otherwise I'd edge towards Canelo to win.
the fight in which he won more respect from me in that sense was the cotto fight

Cotto's a great boxer and had a great game plan, he just didn't had enough stamina. This was BY FAR the best version of cotto post-margarito I. The cuban did a great job formulating a game plan and preparing him.
While I agree that Cotto was well prepared, I don't necessarily think it was there gameplan that gave them the success. The only reason Cotto was able to do as well as he did was because Floyd allowed it. He fought Cottos fight and proved that he didn't have to fight that way in the very next fight w/Guerrero.

There are two answers to that.
If you hate Floyd...that answer is Antonio Margarito
If you're not delusional... The answer is people at Floyds level dont tend to get KOd/stopped while both are at their natural weight.
Anyway, Shane was gasping for air from the 2nd on. Probably over trained seeing as he just had a camp for Berto and with his age..ouch.I'm lost. Why are you mentioning Margarito? Second, there are no excuses as to why Shane lost to Floyd-none!
It showed me two things, whilst his chin is not great, it's pretty solid. I don't think Shane hit him with a home run, like he has hit other fighters with, if he had I think he takes Floyd out. I just refreshed myself with both shots on youtube. The first shot was through the middle, solid shot, but nothing I didn't see him hit Oscar with several times or even Cotto in their fight. The second shot was one of those right hooks that Mosley likes to land around the guard, it was a good shot but it could have been worse, it landed high on Floyds head rather than his chin, plus Mosley was leaning back so he didn't really get his full weight on the shot. Again I saw plenty of these land on Oscar and Cotto, but not the same effect. But this is not a surprise to me, as we saw it in the Corley fight.
His powers of recovery though, and his conditioning are TREMENDOUS! I'm not sure there is a more fit fighter out there, he really has amazing stamina. Plus he has great defensive shape, when he does get hurt, the few times he has been, he just hides in his shell and rides it out. To answer the question in the thread, it didnt show me anything that I didn't already know about him, this is one tough SOB. He can dig down if he has to, and he seems to actually enjoy it when wars breakout, it just happens that he is so good he rarely needs to get involved in one.
The one question it raised was, if that was a prime Shane where he was able to come again and again, would Floyd be able to deal with that? But then you could argue was that Shane on EPO? Food for thought...
i believe floyd is tough as hell in there and is probably alot stronger in clinches than alot of the guys he's fought. just because he doesn't get led into wars doesn't mean he's a B!tch fighter. he can do it all
Did he prove he was not all flash to those who didnt already know this?did he show his grit and toughness?
Oh yeah. I was surprised he went toe to toe.
He definitely showed his ability to stay composed and in control. He knew exactly what to do in that situation. That in itself is impressive, because he's not used to being in that situation, ever.
Floyd has always had my respect as a boxer, I may disagree on his personality, his behaviour out of the ring and his ego. The man has been around for a pretty long time, and unlike most other smaller weight fighter's who become laddersteps for up and coming superstars he has remained at the number 1 spot, that in itself is a tremendous achievement.
As much as I love Shane, has he ever taken out a prime elite fighter even close to Floyd's level? He's beaten some very good boxers by decision don't get me wrong, but I mean an elite fighter like Floyd or around Floyd's caliber.
