Hearing that K2's offer to Main Events for @Showtime_Curtis-GGG was around $300,000. Also hearing that's not going to get it done.
On a side note Gabe Rosado was offered 55K to fight Kid Chocolate. He shot that down.
Your life and what you earn has nothing to do with how you should view a guy who didn't take the FIRST offer given to him. When you started that job, did they tell you how much you would earn an hour, or did you negotiate your hourly pay?
Hey if he can get more money great, just dont blow the fight over money because 300K is nothing to be sniffed at and like i said the big money will come if he's the fighter he claims.
Meh, pricks told me what i was getting.... ****ers also told me it would go up with every qualification i achieved but has it bollocks!
So what makes the last 4 guys GG fought so overwhelmingly better than Stevens? Not even better, more worthy?
Macklin clearly deserved his check. Arguably beating Sturm and pushing Sergio to the brink. (Proved he was at that level) He fought two champions and he beat Alcine, He has a fanbase and they showed up in force for the fight.
Curtis's has never fought for a major title.
Yea, I really don't... especially when he has done absolutely nothing to earn the current offer.
I'm surprised they even offered him that much at firstSo what makes the last 4 guys GG fought so overwhelmingly better than Stevens? Not even better, more worthy?
Fans don't understand why Stevens peoples are asking for more money. The fighter called GG out, but his team is saying, weigh your options first. Fighters will fight. They want the glory.
I don't know the ratings or viewer numbers on NBC, but that's why they want to keep a guy like Stevens on NBC, and make sure that he's paid accordingly if he gets a title shot. Just be patient.

If you want to use the mainstream as the yardstick, the only two fighters people know are Mayweather and Pacquiao. I think that's a rather obvious. I'm only speaking relatively to the people in the small niche of boxing fandomThere are boxing fans who don't even know who the MW champions are today. They don't know who the flw, bw, sbw, fw, lw, jww, jmw, smw, lhw, cw or hvw champs are. They can't name 1 champion let alone all 4. The guys are doing an ok job, but I see why they have to talk a lot. You just don't see these guys on the reg like in the past so social media is the way to go.
Fans who follow the sport know Stevens, Quillin and GG, but fans in general don't. Ask a friend that you don't watch boxing with who any of the three are, and see if they know any of them. I'm not even trying to be funny either. Call them by their whole name and se if they know them.
Nobody knew who Quillin was after calling Martinez out. Nobody even saw or heard him call Martinez out except the diehards. I'm not trying to eff with you either. There are people who have not even heard of Broner or Ward...hell there are people today who don't even know who the hvw champ of the world is.

THey posted an article on NSB earlier. Said HBO was interested in showing his last 2 fights
Is that recent? I heard those rumors when the September date was in play. But I doubt they'd show him from Monaco, with that solid but no name cruiser tournament.
I'd say most boxing fans that follow the sport know who Quillin and GGG are by now.
But relatively speaking, back then even hardcore fans didn't even know who the hell Quillin was. Quillin calling out Martinez is what made people notice him for the first time, which is what I mean. Same with GGG and Stevenson recently.

He be trolling on the daily.
Quillin didn't make a name calling out Martinez. Stevens, Quillin and GG are unknowns to fans.

You know what this reminds me off? When Kid Chocolate made his name by calling out Martinez. I had no idea who he was before he did that. And similarly to Stevens, he had previously turned down on offer to fight Martinez.Quillin didn't make a name calling out Martinez. Stevens, Quillin and GG are unknowns to fans.
Think thatz a fair amount of pay...Curtis really hasn't earned a shot at the title...but maybe he could get to $350K since its a dangerous fight which I see very little chance of him winning...

We'll hear by monday.
Maybe they'll reconsider with everybody calling Main Events and Stevens a Pvssy
when they accept we will have every saying Stevens was forced into the fight when he accepts.....
I think Team Stevens should think about the offer and not make any quick decisions right away. You should never accept less than what you think you should get.
according to Duva they are still thinking over the offer.

Despite earlier reports that Curtis Stevens had turned down a $300,000 offer from K2 Promotions to face Gennady Golovkin in November on HBO, Main Events promoter Kathy Duva says that they have not yet rejected the deal, and she is simply taking the weekend to mull it over before making a final decision.
"In a nutshell, an offer was made and I asked for the weekend to consider it. Nothing else has happened," Duva told Bad Left Hook. "In the end, we will make our decision based upon what we believe to be Curtis' and Main Events best interests."
according to Duva they are still thinking over the offer.
