Hey boxing fans,
I heard this fight has broken the all-time gate record, but I wondered if anyone with a bit of knowledge know what the ppv numbers are likely to be? I heard something about Warner and Showtime separating and wondered whether this fight could top Mayweather v De la Hoya.
Thank you in advance.
OK so if it did break the record how will the landscape of boxing change? I think there will be more third party interest in the sport like the NFL and NBA.
The fight won't break the record because of the times. 3 of the co-main event and main event fighters are still relatively unknown. This fight will do big numbers, but at $70.00, I doubt the ppv hits 2.4 mil. If it did over 2 mil, I'd be surprised.

1.6-1.7 mil is my guess. It won't make it anywhere near the record, lets be real here people.
If anyone wants to bet points that it even surpasses 2 mil I'd be down.
I think it does 1.75-2 million. Keep in mind that HBO is still counting PPV buys from DLH/Floyd and that just broke 2.5 million. 2.5 million is going to be TOUGH to smash through. The only fight that had a chance of smashing through 2.5 million was Floyd/Pac because both were 1 million+ PPV sellers with almost every fight. We don't know Canelo's PPV worth yet because he had yet to headline his own PPV. The PPV price might hurt it as well.
i'm guessing between 1.5-2 million. if i had to guess i'd say 1.75 or less is most likely.
the massive ppv events of the past (tyson - holyfield, de la hoya - mayweather,) didn't' have to compete with streaming sites. i know a lot of hardcore fans do not buy ppv fights.
anything above 650k-700k will be thanks to Canelo.
Also the Gate? Canelo was responsible for 90% of it. He puts asses on seats.
The fight will probably do 1.7 Million
you will be missed....
People need relax about the time warner-showtime dispute,,,
you will still get the ppv,,, its not like you have to have showtime or hbo to order one of their ppvs..
Thats not true. Time Warner removed the Showtime PPV from their site and list and when called they said they are not offering anything from CBS including PPV.
Anything related to CBS and Showtime.

Floyd has never came close to breaking Oscars record.

500k tops. dead srs. pacquiao is old news now.
Hey thats a big number for a fight that isn't even being promoted in the USA.
What I am curious is how many of those 5.99 ppv buys they will sell in China. if they get 25 million Chinese to buy it for 5.99 they would make close to 150 million bucks, not including the US ppv. Arum will pocket the majority of the money though lol
It'll be in the area of 2 million...don't worry....
What will pacquiao-rios ppv buys do?lol..
Don't worry...take you time?

People need to quit overreacting about TWC. It will be solved in a week or two, and have no affect on access to buying the PPV if it lasts.
The fight should do upwards of 2m. Give or take 100k. The promotion has ramped down a bit now though. Were only 6 weeks out. I'm interested how they start building the excitement again.
I hope the do a piece or two on Matthysse vs Garcia.
trusy me bro, in a couple weeks they'll be doing mass media interviews, the hype will be huge.

No way this even comes close to the Dela hoya PPV, that was on HBO and streaming wasn't around back then
This is on SHO (which just got dropped by TWC) and there will be tons of streams available.
I'd be really surprised if this breaks the 1.3 Pacquiao did against Mosley on SHO
Lol..you're a ****in tool kid...it shatters mosley-pacquiao.....
