Theoretically, if these events happened, where would you see each fighter today and also others who were directly connected to them?
11-12-2011 - What if Pacquiao KO'd JMM in their 3rd fight? This probably means no 4th fight. Also how do you think it would have affected the following fighter's careers to date:
Pacquiao
Marquez
Bradley
Also, and these two events don't have to be mutually exclusive if you don't want,
05-01-2010 - What if Mosley KO'd Mayweather in round 2 of their fight? In the same vein, how would the following fighters' careers have been affected:
Mayweather
Mosley
Ortiz
Guerrero
PS: I have no agenda here, just thought it would be fun envisioning an alternate reality if these events actually did occur.
If Pacquiao wasn't so squeamish of needles he would have gotten KO'd back in 2010. Boxingscene would have been a great, troll free boxing forum without all the Pactards littering the forum with nonsense.
If Pac ko'd Marquez then no forth fight. Probably would have still fought bradley. Not sure if he would get robbed again.
Now for Mayweather it is more interesting because if he lost he would would have lost that air of invincibility. Now maybe had he lost he would be more inclined to take riskier fights. Also I think his showtime contract would have been for less or he would still be on HBO.
I think that a mayweather loss would have been the catalyst for the Pacquiao fight since at least part of the reason why the fight wasn't made was because of Mayweather protecting his 0 (even though imo he would be a heavy favorite).
I agree with this for the most part.
For Pac's scenario, I think he would still be on his crazy win streak and still be top 2 P4P. JMM would've either retired or made one last stand against other JWW/WW contenders with mixed results. Pac would've still fought Bradley, but I don't think he would have gotten robbed this time since-- in reality-- I see the robbery as karma for the Pac-JMM 3 controversial decision. Bradley, after the loss I could see mixing it up with the likes of Khan, Maidana and Matthysse.
For Floyd, he would rematch Mosley and get an easy UD. Since he lost his "0" I could see him taking riskier fights. Ortiz fight would've still happened, but Guerrero would be out of the picture. I think he woulda fought (and beat) Martinez and the Canelo fight would be happening perhaps a little earlier (winning that too). Then maybe after that the Pac fight would've fionally happened, probably this year.
With Floyd not having to protect his precious "0" there would have been a better chance that they would have met. Less to lose at that point but then again, perhaps Floyd would have wanted it even less because Manny made Mosley run for the first time in his career and Floyd would not have wanted another loss on his record because if it hadn't already due to the loss to Mosley, that would have killed his big "money" PPV events.
For Floyd, the logical next fight, if Floyd accepted, would have been a rematch with Mosley.
For Manny, he would have fought the winner of Floyd/Mosley but if Floyd wins, it would depend on Floyd and his roadblocks!!! Yes, he would have fought Bradley but not Marquez again.
