I think sergio and floyd may be fighting next if floyd beats canelo. WHile I know garcia/matts or khan/devon winner seem more likely, the way lampley/HBO threw sergio under the bus make me think they think he's leaving.
i called this long ago, floyd imo going for history he'll be rated as the best in 3 divisions i don't know if that has been done before but either way it'll be pretty damn impressive.

If he won't fight Canelo at the full 154 then he won't fight a middleweight at any weight over the 152 he is fighting Canelo at. Floyd is either the greatest now or he isn't the greatest now.Whatever he does in his old age doesn't make him better than he was in his prime. If he stays at welterweight he could probably retire undefeated and that is what he should do. If Floyd wants to prove himself above welterweight then he should accept GGG's challenge to fight at 154.I think GGG would beat him easily but if he did beat GGG at 154 I would be very impressed. I think Floyd is a great fighter but certainly not the greatest of all time.As for winning the world's middleweight title I think if he can only win it at a catchweight then he is not really the true middleweight champ of the world. He should either try to win it at 160 pounds or stay out of the division. One or the other.
but he fought odh and cotto at 154. yet you say him fighting canelo at 152 says something. Thats a pretty weak argument.
You have a problem with Canelo at 152 when you've seen him win below 154 yet you have no problem with GGG at 154 when you haven't seen him fight below 160?
Floyd has never won atitle when the champ wasn't at the max weight of the division. WHy wouldn't that factor more into your reasoning than one CW fight he has coming up? Your reasoning here directly contradicts the reasoning used above.
Why does floyd have to fight on these terms only? WHile I agree the champion should never have to defend a title at a CW-have you had this standard for every champion that wins the belt below the max weight of the division or is it only when floyd does it that its no goood?
If he beats Canelo, then beats the Matthysse-Garcia winner and the Khan-Alexander winner than we will be heading into 2015 so the whole landscape will have changed by then.
I would say if Bradley is still undefeated and gets out of his contract with Top Rank then he's a possibility.
Not too sure who else but someone will be at the front of the line by then.

Floyd the greatest boxer who never took on tough opponents
Lol funny floyd is so good whoever he faces aren't considered tough opponents. I guess that's technically a compliment.
I think the Khan-Alexander winner could end up being matched against Brook or Thurman too. So those are possibles.
Bradley is he beats Marquez and gets away from Top Rank.
Timmothy Bradley, I think he will leave Top Rank once his contract is up. After Bradley I can see him fighting Broner and then retiring. I think Broner is being set up as his retirement fight, which would make me laugh if Floyd straight up sons him instead of passing the torch to him.

Crazy how ppl like you just totally dismiss pro fighters...are you sure you're a fan of boxing & do you have any idea what it takes to get inside the ring? Especially on a world class level...SMH...if you're not a fan of Floyd, cool...but don't disrespect pro fighter by saying their not tough. Pac & Marg can't be the only tough guys in boxing.
Canelo - 45-0
Mathysse/Garcia winner - 46-0
Sergio - 47-0
Khan - 48-0
Pac - 49-0
Broner - 50-0
that would cap one hell of a resume and make the case for GOAT if indeed he went on to win all of those, and especially in his late 30's and early 40's, imo.
If he is going to fight a middleweight then he has to fight Martinez or there is no point
The time line makes these possible fights 3 years away , Martinez will probably be irrelevant then maybe even retired , GGG will probably be at 168 in 3 yrs .
If Floyd beats Canelo he should just dominate the best that comes up at 147-154 and leave it at that , he is a small WW he does not belong in the ring with a young prime MW , he could win a MW belt but not against any MW , the Uri Foreman type WC he beats everyday and twice on Sunday as opposed to a dominate elite MW WC , here Floyd is handicapped to the shat house .
I know Floyd is larger than life in the media but in that ring he is a small WW and that's relevant because at the end of the day its a boxing match that takes place , the fantasy world of hype don't matter a rats in there .
Garcia/Mattyshee..and Alexander-Khan..lets say he runs thru these 3 fights undefeated who would you like to see him fight in his last 2 fights?
broner has a belt at 47 so does floyd so why not?
Beating whoever is the true champ at mid weight be it Martinez or GGG can make that a solid argument.
floyd has no business at 160.... he's barely a welterweight
