Here's a fight with an interesting back story - on the day of the fight someone from Rigondeaux's team asked him if he could KO Willie Casey in one round, back in 2011. The fight was in Ireland so they wanted to bet some of the traveling budget on the 1st round KO, if he pulled it off they'd have enough money to celebrate the victory in style. Rigondeaux assessed the situation and then confirmed he was capable of the early stoppage.
After the fight Rigondeaux asked the guys "don't forget my cut of the winnings!"
So question is in the title, it seems as if there's a risk of Rigondeaux being removed from major fight networks - Do you want to continue to see Guillermo Rigondeaux on major networks HBO or Showtime?
I'm not talking about Donaire. I've watched more than one Rigo fight, this guy goes full amateur boxing mode when he gets touched. Look at his fight with Ricardo.
Oh, and you're underestimating Mares and Santa Cruz. Mares shut down Moreno and I have much more respect for Moreno's skills than I do Rigo. Why do I want to see Rigo fight cab drivers on HBO? For a million dollars as well. Its not just stupid, Its Berto stupid.
You think Moreno is more skilled than Rigondeaux?...
HBO and Arum are full of crap, they know dag on well that Rigo is much better than some of these other wanna-be's that make it on HBO. Like others have said, they want to try to get Rigo and his team to lower their asking price and they are pissed that he made Donaire look really bad. They were building Donaire into the next Pac and now it'll take some time to gain popularity in Donaire again.
If I was a die hard fan of Donaire, Mares or Mikey Garcia I'd easily say no. Since I'm a fan of all of them I'll say yes because those would be great matchups from a viewing standpoint. Regardless of the outcome. Regardless if the guy I'm going for gets schooled, outclassed, dominated or simply defeats Rigo
Of course.
He's an incredible fighter, one of the most skilled on the planet, and a joy to watch. He deserves to be on the big stage as much as anyone.
One last time; let Eddie Hearn get Rigo on board at Sky and he'll be the star he should be.
I would love that. I just want to see Rigo do well. I don't care if he has to travel to China for an audience.
Of course.

The no list of people is so small and predictable its just funny. Could have guessed 90%of it w.o seeing it.
Lmao. It's like that in every poll in the forum
He earned a HBO time slot, no doubt. HBO puts a lot of pressure on fighters to make them fight competitive fights worthy of a premium channel. Perhaps Rogo's choice of opponents after beating Nonito has made them lose interest.
Rigo needs to dump HBO/TR and head over to Golden Boy/Showtime where boxing is slowly shifting towards anyways. Would love to see him battle Santa Cruz and Mares, and I'd guarantee you those fights would be exciting.

So fighters with good boxing skills that come to fight are neanderthals?
You hardcore boxing hipsters are some of the worst pieces of shit I've ever seen.
No, but fighters with great boxing skills are... Sweet Science.
I thought that fight was a master piece. I myself have watched it many times. Rigo has become my favorite fighter and am not even Cuban , am Mexican.
Sweet Science > Neanderthal style
