GGG said he wants to fight again in september and December

there's no big fights for him right now MW is wide open right now, a countdown to GGG-Martinez nothing else to get really excited about Quillin doesn't want it, so who can GGG fight? 2 fights before the yr's out probably means optional tomato cans but it's better he stays busy with a couple more KO's if possible rather he do that than sit around doing nothing at all

I mean I know they won't start negotiating that late, maybe a week or two after his last fight. Even then they got to find somebody to fight within that window. I know they've been looking, but nothing really strong right now. Geale/Barker seems the obvious for late fall though In general it shouldn't be a problem that's how things were done for the first 70 years or so in boxing but with guys fighting once or twice a year as their norm ya it becomes more difficult.

GGG should take a stay busy fight like andy lee, rubio, someone along those lines,,, Then in december go for big fight with murray, geale/barker, chavez jr Would like to see GGG vs Kirkland, just for fun

There's no double standard coming from me. Any educated boxing fan knows that most fighters let their promoters/managers/advisers handle the matchmaking. I agree with your statement, but why certain fighters get hated for this and some others can use that as an excuse

If Ellerbe or Arum said that their fighter would not fight fighter X because the fight needs to be marinated Pac or Floyd would get hated by a bunch of people in here. But if its GGG then it's ok... I have no problem with the fact that he doesnt want to take the biggest challenge of his career right now, I have problem with people saying GGG would take anybody right now which aint true, because like you said he's not ready to play to the Super Bowl right now. Man if they all had GGG's attitude the sport would have an instance resurgence. In a perfect world I'd like to see him against Murray in September and Chavez in december and then next year clean out the rest; Martinez Quillen and Geale. but honestly if he's fighting twice before the year is out I'd be happy enough with him taking a stay busy fight in September against some bum and then murray in december. (I'd rather see him in action even against a nobody than not see him at all)

It "needs to marinate" because it won't generate as many viewers or as much money right now as it would 1-2 years down the road. They would be wasting an opportunity. Ward would be his ultimate fight in his career, because that's the guy that everybody says will beat him and because of Ward's obvious status P4P wise. Nothing wrong with waiting a bit and fighting up the ranks to a grand conclusion. You want him to play in the Super Bowl and then fizzle out with a few regular season games? That wouldn't make sense.
