Im using the term "overrated" loosely, hence the quotes.
-Edit-
Kinda like how everyone is jumping on The Heat bandwagon. Great team but alot of "bandwagoners"
Alot of people have been jumping on these 2 bandwagon
completely agree! clev is very underrated around here and i put that down to him not fighting more often , but given time and more bouts im sure he will start getting a little respect. his talent is ridiculous and his chin is like granite
Kuziemski a feather fist with 3 KO's his entire career rocked Clev and they pulled a bogus stoppage the next round on a cut to ensure he didin't cause Clev any more issues. His chin looks solid but not invinsible and granite should be reserved for guys like Matthysse.
Lucas two losses was against devon and judah who people think he mite won...and he been koed lamont petterson..da only one to dominate him EVER
I'm guessing you missed the Peterson/Bradley fight.
By virtue of who they've fought GGG is more "overrated". At the same time Gennady has better potential and a higher ceiling in my opinion.
I was thinking about this when I read the question. I'd agree with what you've said but Matt's has also lost to every top opponent he's fought except Peterson granted the fights were close he still should have iced Judah and if his power is as great as they say he could've found a way to beat Alexander but just didn't know how they both gave him fits. As for ggg he's steam rolled everyone just about and took out his toughest opponent to date in macklin in 3 and if he dismantles barker then I could see him being much better then Lucas he already is and I haven't seen much of him. Lucas seems more over rated really hasn't beat anyone except the chinny slow starting Paterson.
LOL :biggthump
If you gonna be making that point aggressively come with a different avatar, right? Vic must be made of teflon for him to still be in play for big name fights, and to be taken seriously in boxing. The guy has literally never won a fight vs a contender/top 10 level guy in 2 divisions, except one catchweight he imposed. Funny thing is, many of the guys boosting him sh1t on a guy that won a record 6 divisional titles and beaten ATGs with no catchweights. Not sure about this guy though, he seems like a single minded GGG hater.
Matthysse has fought more world champs of course GGG is the overrated one. Anyone who thinks anything else doesn't know **** about boxing.
Who's more overrated, GGG or Ortiz? Asking since you seem an expert on the topic
How could Golovkin get a single vote smh. He is NOT just a one punch KO artist. He has solid defense, ELITE level balance, ELITE level footwork in cutting off the ring, ELITE level patience to pick his shots correctly. It will be much harder to beat Golovkin than it would to beat Lucas.
For the record to avoid the flame war you should have just asked "Who is the better fighter"
I wouldn't say defense is that good... but he's never really needed to rely on it too much since he spend most his time stalking and crushing
They are both living up to the "hype" so I can't say either is over-rated. Both guys have probably the strongest punch per respective bodyweight in the sport. Golovkin needs the ropes to win though....he MUST get his opponents trapped. Lucas will drop someone right in the middle of the ring with a left hook.

Definitely GGG;atleast Walter Matthyse took some serious risk and beat some solid opposition so he deserves the hype.GGG on the other hand still hasn`t beaten anyone that stands out and some of his opposition was blown up junior middleweights who wasn`t anything special at junior middleweight.
he just beat a legit mw contender. made and offer to contender murray. who do you suggest?
matthysse division is stacked..... and there's nothing golovkin can do about that.
Matthysse's division is no more stacked than MW. LM also can't fight half the top 10 because they're with TR.
Everyone is not jumping on Adrien Broners bandwagon, in fact alot of ppl bash him lol. I see nothing but countless threads on Matthysse or GGG(not that they don't deserve it)
Broner gets far more public and media acclaim relative to his ability.
Neither... I wont vote!
Not until you put a real name that is overrated like Adrien Broner.

golovkin is technically superior boxer.... as far as skills goes, it's what separates them...
golovkin was primarily a counter-puncher.... he's evolved in a front-foot fighter....
he's a lot harder to hit.... has outstanding footwork....
but has fought a lesser level of opponent.... in saying that....

Golovkin without a doubt. Everyone seems to be claiming that it's a foregone conclusion that he will murder Martinez. As massive as Golovkin's potential is, that idea's absurd.
The guarantee that Garcia will be destroyed by Matthysse is much more reasonable I think.
See I think it's the other way around. Matthysse-Garcia is 50-50, but Golovkin against an old Martinez?
Golovkin is also more skilled than Matthysse imo.
