Fighters you expect to get exposed when they step up.
Who is hyped beyond reason that you expect to get exposed?
For me...
Frankie Gavin - Just an amateur overachiever for me who doesn't really do anything that great. I expect his hype to die tonight. Hes one of these guys who has had difficulties in life and IMO its used by his fans as an excuse for under-performing as he simply isn't that good.
Adrien Broner - Come on man take your head from the clouds, small, poor mans Andre Berto. His footwork will always be a problem, hes so top heavy. Fluid up top but not in the legs. Hes predictable, an arm puncher. His defense is overrated as you can get.
Hes nothing special and his body language gives away everything.
High held guard - Hes gonna jab up top. Shifts weight on his backfoot - left hook counter. Leans in - Hes gonna overreach with the straight right. etc etc
Hes nothing. Its guys like this make me appreciate the old timers more.
Jofre, Monzon, Tunney etc etc
Watch them, watch their feints with not only there hands but feet. They may not of had the best footwork but they was clever with it, watch how they make guys think they're stepping in, Louis was great at this. Marquez would be an example of a modern day fighter. He'd use a 'foot-stomp' to make you commit. Where is Broners feints, period?
Yh most wasn't as 'flashy' and are ATGs but it puts into perspective to me how if anything the guys of today just don't compare for most part. In those days it was more about subtlety in a B-Hop esque manner than flashiness. They beat you not just because they was better but because they had it upstairs. B-Hop for example he isn't the fastest, strongest, hardest hitter but hes so clever compared to most of todays fighters and I feel that is because he studies not just his opponents but old timers and he takes bits on board, hes not brilliant technically IMO but he is a wise old fox and is so intelligent that is what makes him so hard to beat.
I expect (HOPE) Broner to get exposed by the likes of Maidana or Matthysse, he just hasn't fought anyone that can really hurt him. The Paulie and PDL fight showed that he can be found to the body, however neither of them have the power to hurt Broner to the body.
Canelo will lose to Floyd, but is that really being "exposed"?
Broner is a very common theme here. Who do people think will be the fighter who exposes him?
saul alvarez is going to get outworked.
broner, too.
rigondeaux is going to get knocked out. if he stays @ 122 it will take a while.
:lol1: :lol1: good one...
Broner - If Malignaggi wasn't a feather fisted fighter, he'd have probably stopped Broner at some point. The welterweight division is no joke, and it will say a lot if he finds an unranked opponent to cherry pick... How obvious could u get at that point? The only fighter in the top 10 he has a shot at beating is Devon Alexander... After that, we'll what's he got?
Canelo - The fighting 1 minute a round shit is gonna be the death of him against a slick boxer or a big puncher... We'll see
the only decent punchers in and around welterweight are all ponderous....
and as far actually landing.... i don't see it happening.... paulie threw those 'shoe shining' flurries that had little on them but didn't really connect effectively....
the guys who hit harder and sit down on their punches, aren't going to throw more than two punches at a time... and they'll all be there to be countered....
broner's great on the inside, he can mix it any which way.....
the better the opponent, the more you'll see.... bring on the likes of maidana....
You better hope he stays away from amir khan, broner doesnt have the power to trouble him.
But khan has the movement and power to trouble broner.
Maidana will still be a tough test because broner won't keep maidana honest.
Also im going to add guererro, i think he takes broners soul. Ortiz obliterates him and berto probably beats him too.
This division is STACKED.
If thats what you believe....but lets look at the fight.
Broner had BEEF with paulie.
Hes a flashy person so obviously this reflects him in the ring.
Hes got a huge KO record before the fight.
But yet you think he would cruise in 2nd gear in a fight of this importance and not go for the knockout.
Heres my view....
Paulie frustrated him with his movement and sharp punching early on.
When broner finally caught up to Paulie he realised pretty soon that his power didnt carry.
------------------------------
I'm going to enjoy making money off of broner once he comes up against a half decent puncher with movement.
He's been exposed and his bully tactic won't work where he is in a division with stronger, harder hitting guys.

after having moved up two weight classes.... not too shabby.

broner's the real deal... the **** are you moron's talking about.....
here's the thing about broner...
he has two types of detractors....
people who hate him because of his flamboyance, his floydmayweatherisms and his arrogance....
then you have the mayweather worshipers who hate him.... why? cos they don't want to imagine there being a fighter who could actually do what their hero does....
but guess what.... the only reason broner may fail.... is broner....
if he keeps up with the drinking, drugs and bull****.... it'll eventually catch up with him....
as far as skills go.... broner's skills are top notch.....
There are actually three types of Broner detractors. Theres the two that you have mentioned, and then there are the ones, some of whom have posted in this thread, who detail the flaws in his boxing style and ability that will hinder him in the future.
yes you are correct
he couldnt even KO a PAST PRIME malignaggi
SPLIT DECISION
you must be kidding me.......
not a hater just a REALIST

If it happens, I think Wlad K will hammer Povetkin big time and AP gets put on the slow train back to Siberia.
Not been impressed by Povetkin for a while and I think WK is possibly now at his peak and will meet the Moscow challenge head-on.
Still not sure about Broner either...especially when put in with a proper, heavy handed warrior like Maidana or Matthyse.
We need to see Broner in a proper war and see how he responds to a guy who brings fire, hunger and the ability to punch hard all night to the table.

Defo flaws but Chavez is the overrated one here IMO
Thurman should wrap him up inside 4.
I fail to see a single advantage Chaves has here including power. Hes made to order and looks good on paper but Thurman really should plaster him.
Haymon wouldn't have made the fight if it wasn't a gauranteed win somehow for Queef Thurman. He's better than Seth Mitchell, but still an Al Haymon hype job. He'd get schooled by Andre Berto or any "above average" guy.
how about Keith One Time Thurman ?? I think Diego Chavez might have something for him july 27th

Rakhim Chakhkiev....oh wait
Won't disagree. His stamina was exposed and his gameplan was bad though I feel he didn't come in with it.
I still feel Wlod is underrated and any other champion would of got brutalised in those 4 rounds. I don't feel I am being biased. I feel that showed if anything just how tough and crafty Wlod really is.
Look at the state of his face after the first round not to mention those bodyshots. Tough mofo!
