Noone looked good against Raheem.. And that was the fat El Terrible at 135.. Not the beast at 122
Exactly.... Dudes trying to talk about a 122 morales, yet only bring up past prime 130-135 morales....
History doesn't lie inferior boxers than Rigo beat Morales around said time, Rigo is all kinds of wrong for that beast. Styles make fights.
Lmao.... You have no idea what you are talking about...
Name the inferior fighters that beat morales at 122
eh....im leaning toward el terrible because of rigos chin...that said. I dont care how great he is you cant wash away the raheem fight... he looked lost against a better boxer. And rigo got skills
Completely agree with you. I also remember Barrera taking on Amir Khan :lol1:
Thats nuts when you think about it!
By 23 morales had faced all top competition (except JMM, long story)
Now 25 yr olds are "prospects" "kids" and talk about being p4p "a-side" rather than fighters
Mannn tough
my favorite current boxer vs my all time fave....
Some will say Morales got outboxed by Raheem, but anyone can have a bad night wth the wrong style. Rigo, god bless him, has had a few cant be bothered nights
The thing about Erik is that he had a warrior mind to go along a brilliant mind and superb ATF technique. Crazy feigns, jab, great power and lenght. Just listen to him talk boxing. He was no brawler. Went toe to toe fat against the hardest puncher divisions above his class (chino).
I think Erik is a matchup problem for rigod, more than donaire or even Lomachenko. Big for the division too.
Terrible KO. BTW, erik would KO Walters. No question. Loma would be competitive and a toss up, outboxes Donaire. makes LSC cry
Morales was a great fighter. The fact that he challenged Garcia and maidana when he was fat tells you how incredible he once was. Also tells you how overrated this era is that two rated guys struggled with him at his advanced age.

It's crazy that these past prime fighters, in weight classes that they didn't belong in, at the tail end of their once great careers very willingly faced challenging opposition... Meanwhile the current crop of talent refuse to even face each other unless their opponent has "earned their shot". Ridiculous. It's business doe.
Morales wasn't a one dimensional slugger and worked well behind a jab. His power and pressure would fold Guillermo and put him down for good.

just look at the people rigo schooled..
pressureless fighters trying to outbox an olympic gold medalist.
how silly is that....
just wait til rigo faces a multi dimensional pressure/high output fighter..
amagasa hurt and dropped him for christ sakes, and dude punches 5 times a round. why cant ppl see or understand!!
Because most people aren't objective. He gets hit and dropped by guys that nobody rates yet somehow he's some master. Morales would slaughter him.
Style.
Pacquiao wasn't fully developed yet and Rigo would be able to outbox him.
Barrera wouldn't be able to make it the fight he wants.
Guillermo is a southpaw. Pacquiao runs train on guys who switch to southpaw in a fight or are natural southpaws.
