I'm not a malignagi or broner fan, but I did see Paulie winning for being more active and throwing more combinations. Broner had his moments, but I don't think he did enough to win the fight.
I did notice though and I don't know if anyone else did that when they first showed the scores everything officially turned. I noticed Bernard had it a unanimous decision for broner, which he obviously would and the other 2 commentators where probably looking at the activity of Paulie. I think once they see how far off they where from Bernard they started focusing on what broner was doing and I still don't think it was much, but nobody cared about what Malignagi was doing.
Paulie had a good statagy. I give him credit for that. If he would have thrown more right hands to the head he would have won. I don't see anyway how he won more than 5 rounds only hitting arms/shoulders. Broner landed every significant punch of every round.
did you even watch the fight? paulie didn't land anything, paulie was running, bronner was smashing his face in and blocking everything.
body punches don't count? c'mon man. broner wasn't able to do sh*t until paulie started tiring. and even then this offensive juggernaut you speak of couldn't drop or stop the champ.
Man i swear ppl need to learn how to score fights. No way paulie won that fight. Its not even plausible. Broner looked like crap but he clearly won. Smh. I dunno if its the hate or what, but ppl have went full retard on this. Funny thing is just about every press score has broner winning clearly.
ya funny how no one mentions the press are they fixed scores to paulie?
broner landed the harder shots but was he really all that effective? malignaggi fought at his own pace the entire fight and his offense minimized broner's to a small fraction of the fight. broner didn't light him up anytime he wanted because he couldn't, so i'd say malignaggi's activity was pretty effective. snapping your opponent's head back one or twice in a 3 minute round where you did little else isn't what i would call effective, especially when your opponent is fighting back.

Malignaggi's head snapped back at least ten times around after rd 4. What were you guys watching?
Being active doesn't win you fights. Being effective does. I hate using compubox as a tool to score anything, but just look at the number of power shots landed betwen the two, and on top of that, the powershots Broner landed were much harder.

Well thats how people always say to beat the shell, pound on the arms and shoulders, and he was landing to the body, and connecting with his jab.
I still think he lost, but it shouldn't have even been a close fight.
Agreed. Good post.
I had it 1-2 rounds for Broner but Ref should have deducted points so potentially a draw it was closer than I had expected since everyone had Broner to wipe out Paulie.
Tom Schreck with 117-111 paid off.
I had Broner winning 115-114, but I honestly feel like a draw would have been the most appropriate outcome, as Broner was contending for the belt here.
117-111 was terrible. That judge should never be called on again.

I'm tired of your trolling. Ignored

even during broner's moments, malignaggi fought back and landed his own punches. he wasn't completely dominated in those exchanges.
paulie throwing and landing a bunch of weak punches > broner posing, talking and doing nothing
Which is why he won 4 rds.
Otherwise, when Broner threw at all, it was decisive.
Is that why PM was able to respond in bunches to whatever Broner threw?
Sounds like you were only scoring Broner's shots giving the 4 rounds to Paulie in the rounds when Broner didn't throw at all.
Malignaggi won 4 rds tops. People are getting far too excited about punches landing on the arms and shoulders.
