Where do you stand with Matthysse-Garcia

The agree with evey point about its ripe now, Haymon gets paid, matts earned shot. But it comes down to a venue being available. I want to see it Sept 7th. That said, this is an east coast fight IMO. If the only venues available Sept 7th are out west or in the south, GBP and showtime would be stupid to make the fight sept 7th because that would cut into the live gate and significantly reduce profits-if it makes any at all.

Not by a long shot. First, Matthysse has been wanting to get into the ring with Garcia for a long time, he said he signed with Haymon only because they promised him the Garcia fight. On the other hand, neither Maidana nor Matthysse want to fight each oter, so its not nearly as interesting, at least to me its not. Then, you have to take into account that Garcia has the other half of Matthysse belt, while Maidana wouldnt be a title fight. I'm not saying its not a good fight, it would be, especially with two tought, hard punchers. But the Matthysse-Garcia fight is pure gravy. FerFAL If Matthysee/Maidana happened and Lucas lost if the fight took at a higher weight it wouldn't take away too much from the Matthysse/Garcia fight. But IMO the fight that has to happen now is Garcia/Matthysse.

This fight is ripe right now for the making. There is nobody of notice or available for any of those two guys to fight if it is not each other. I want this fight now while both fighters are in their peak/prime of their respective careers. Besides, it's a mandatory title defense for Garcia.

i'm more than confident that this fight will happen and that danny will come up with a game plan and implement said game plan for the dub over maltese.

There is a very good reason why the fight does not happen. It does not benefit Al Haymon's interest as he stands to gain more from 2 winning fighters. I very much want to see the fight and think Mattysse is more keen on it than Garcia but it is Haymon that calls the shots. Of course I want the fight as soon as possible. Garcia should have fought Matthysse instead of Judah. Lucas has done more than enough to get his chance at the title.
