why do these Mayweather fans or a lot of you guys for that matter keep *****ing that he is too big and how he should go to 160, because he weight 170 on fight night.
the truth is that all the dudes in 154 come in around that weight on fight night.
Trout came in at like 171 in the Canelo fight. (where canelo was like 172)
Angulo came in at 173
Lara came in at like 168( and I believe he would have came in bigger if it wasn't for the weight limit they put on him)
Mayweather is a champ at 154.. if he can't rehydrate bigger than that and feels that normal 154s have a weight advantage, than maybe he has no business there to begin with.
now stop with the nonsense its annoying.
once again, the fairest thing to do would be for both fighters to weigh 154lbs or less, 1 hour before fight time. No size advantage either way
In a perfect world that would be the way..
Sadly that is not reality
I don't think Canelo has any problem making 154 or he would not agree to come in at 152. I don't believe he is a coward. He was set to fight Williams and Kirkland but the fights fell through but not because of Canelo. If he outgrows 154 he will move up to 160 and fight the best at that weight. Does anybody really believe the Mexican fight fans would like him so much if they thought he was a coward? Haters gonna hate.

now stop with the nonsense its annoying.I agree with you. Floyd is the WBA 154 pound world superchamp. If he thinks Canelo is too big for him he should give up the title and just defend his WBC welterweight title. Making Canelo come in at 152 when Floyd is the defending champion is not right. I don't care that much because I think Canelo will be just as good at 152 but in principle it's wrong. What if Floyd beats Canelo and decides to defend his WBA and WBC JR. middleweight world titles against Lara next. Does Lara also have to weigh in at 152 pounds? Is Floyd now the 152 pound champion of the world? Does this new weight class become the world's Jr. Jr. middleweight champion? If the Jr. middleweights are too big for Mayweather then stay out of the division or call the fight a non title catchweight fight.
Most of these kids rehydrate to a fault!!! If their doing their best sparring at 158--62 then they better rehydrate from 152 to 64 and not 170+ because by the time they get that extra fluid out of them the fight will be over!!!
They can perform sluggishly also because their best at 58-62 is now 170+ then throw in their nerves and excitement and your physically and mentally "out of shape"!
Just as you can dehydrate and have your strength zapped (ala Dawson vs Ward) you can "bloat up" and that will fatique you also!!!
If they returned to same day weighins this problem would be eliminated!!!
If the limit is 152 at 8AM your NOT coming in at 172 at 8PM, you'll naturally rehydrate to a safer 158-60 and represent the weight class properly and fairly!
Ray.
But, under same day (morning) weighin many guys would still try to lose water and hydrate after weighin. They wouldn't be able to blow up as much, but it's a lot more dangerous having a smaller window for hydration.
So when a Mexican does it is not easy, but if is from another country he is a cheater...
No bro, it means you're a biotch, now touch your toes and tip toe on out .

the Floyd poofters are afraid of everything
Floyd's never supposed to fight the ranked guys around his weight
truth is, it's unwarranted here, Alvarez is no threat
his weight will be a weakness, not a strength
the guy is just gonna be plodding, missing, and staring
Tell that to Mickey, cuoldn't even loose one. It's not as easy as it sounds.
So when a Mexican does it is not easy, but if is from another country he is a cheater...
Source please??? I highly doubt that canelo's camp would offer a cw unless floyd's camp was insisting, which no doubt was the case.... Search the articles here and you can find schaffer saying that floyd wanted it at 147, then 150, but finally agreed to 152......
Last year Canelo offer to fight at 150, that was before he fought Trout...

Fix it for you, Lara 164
I don't think mayweather is a coward, because the fight is sign and ready to go at the end of the day.
I don't like the CW. simply because of what floyd had said in the cotto fight
but I dont think it makes a big difference since Canelo usually weights 153 on the scales. One pound won't do much.
I just made this thread after reading countless thread about the mayweather vs Canelo fight and seen a lot of people keep bringing up the weight. Not realizing that the majority if not all of the guys in 154 come in the ring weighting around the same as the kid.
Tell that to Mickey, cuoldn't even loose one. It's not as easy as it sounds.
Well apparently Canelo's management suggested the catchweight.
So it's on him.

Lara was 164 because he was apparently told he couldn't rehydrate to more than 10% though hes not the biggest of 154lbers anyway & Angulo was 172 the same as Canelo was for Trout.
Canelo is bigger on fight night than most middleweights including Sturm, Murray, Golovkin, Martinez, Barker
Hell Murray & Barker are good sized middleweights and hes outweighing them & they have 5" or so on him
Canelo isn't even a naturally big guy, hes carrying around too much mass IMO for his frame & that is why his stamina sucks so hard.
no Angulo was 174.. but you're right about lara though.
http ://youtu. be/f3GS1Po6mWc?t=1m29s
it doesnt let me post links but u can see for yourself
so what would you have said if Floyd chose not to fight him, relinquished his belt, and stayed at WW?
Honestly I wouldn't of cared. I think Mayweather is a ww and has no business at jrmw.

yeah after floyd wanted to fight him at 147. like i said I think CW isn't a problem
I was more displeased with it simply cause it made floyd look like a hypocrite, nothing more.
but this thread has nothing to do with the CW or any of that, nor does it really have to do with the fight.
its more directed at the people whining about how canelo is too big.. or how he should move up to MW.. making it out like he is cheating or something, when in reality all the dudes in 154 come in on fight night around the same weight as he does.
so if everyone (real 154 pounders) come in around the same weight after re hydration, how is canelo any different?

I dont think that Canelo has to go to MW at all. The rules are the rules but also dont tell me that Floyd has to fight him or he's a coward. Thats the main point.
