The kid is the goods. totally disagree, marquez is a multiple weight champion for starters. marquez has got more knockouts than ward has had fights. his win over pacman is a better single win than any ward holds. as lederman said, if you knock marquez down, he will get back up!

I think they're both amazing champions but I give Ward the nod because of his overall better technical abilities and his unprecedented run during the "Super Six World Boxing Classic." The guy just beat Chad Dawson not too long ago and I heard he's been rehabbing an injury. He won the Super Six with ease. The guy is clearly #2 pound for pound right now with Mayweather being #1. Sergio Martinez or Chavez should move up to 168 and get their asses beat by him.

Some of these folks replying have to be trolls. Most people that follow boxing know that he suffered a shoulder injury and was just recently cleared to train again. Heard something about a possible tune up fight in September.

He's not fighting enough. A man of his boxing calibre should be fighting more than once a year. When people see Ward fight again, they'll be reminded of his dominance and skill.

Ward doesn't strike me as the type of person who wants to stay in the sport for a very long time. I take it he'll probably retire around 32-34. He seems like an extremely family oriented person and if that's the case his health is of up most importance to him, plus we never hear about him having any financial issues so I take it he's being smart with the money he's earned. He probably follows Hopkins financial advice and invests his money in pretty safe stuff like bonds and index funds. I'm friends with his financial adisor, he has a lot of money in10 year Greek bonds. Look at the yield curve for those. Risky! He doesn't seem to live a flashy lifestyle when I watched all access, he has a normal house and car etc so he looks like he'd be alright after retirement

You really don't sound like a Ward fan. He fought his way to the top of his weight class and he is considered one of the two best fighters in the world by most fans and experts. He can make over a million dollars a fight even with his fan unfriendly style. I am sure he will fight in Vegas with a good offer but he won't go to England to fight Froch and I don't blame him. For him to retire when he just now reached the top would not make sense. He should cash in on his hard work and success and make some serious money and then retire.

The moves hes making now just make me think hes in the sport to just get signed with other companies not to get money for boxing itself. A fighter's chief concern should be self-interest, their time and dedication to the sport naturally enhance boxing.

Like most murican boxers today, the aint boxing for pride, the are boxing for money and fame, and a soon as the get that, the lose the fire. That is what I like about the 3 argentinian horsemen, the are in it for the pride

He was perfectly fine with fighting Kelly Pavlik.... And now it seems as though he's begging Chavez Jr for a fight. I really don't know what he's doing but he's boring his way into irrelevancy.
