They are fighting in the AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas.
Thurman looks fast, undefeated. 19 wins out of 20. 18 by KO. Thurman sounds like a big mouth douche.
Chaves has 22 wins out of 22 fights, 18 by KO. From Argentina, very hard puncher.
I'll go with Chaves. Even if Thurman could win this one, it seems to me that Chaves hits harder, is generally tougher and had more experience.

How do you like your crow? Well done or medium rare?
Jaja! Yes, lets wait and see. I'm sure Chaves will put up a good fight either way because he's got a belt to defend. Lets hope Thurman, the best thing in boxing since Sugar Ray Robinson, doesnt get Mike Dallased.
Say, you have: 1)GGG 2)Matthysse... and 3)Thurman ?
Are you sure you're not Thurman or some close relative of his?:D

Im fair too and I dont hate anyone, even if I think Thurman is being spoon fed crapy fighters to build him up and I think his last fight wasnt all that wonderful you seem to think it was.
If he beats Chaves good for him, it will be a great first serious victory for him against a real champion. You seem to forget that Chaves is the one that holds the WBA interim, and he will be defending it against Thurman.
There's a long road to go from there, Thurman is no fking Matthysse, or even a Lamont Peterson. He's no Chaves either as Chaves is the champ holding the belt they are fihting for. If Chaves beats him it would be his first fight in America against a highly regarded fighter so it would be a big step forward for him too. I simply dont see Thurman as wonderful a boxer as you do and think Chaves is more likely to win, that's all.

Keep drinking that haterade. When he beats chaves, you better not be making excuses, and calling Chaves a bum.
I want a 500 word apology right after Thurman looks impressive against Chaves. Deal?
If he loses, or looks lackluster, I'll retract my statements, and apologize to you.
I'm a fair guy.

Edit to add:
you better not be making excuses, and calling Chaves a bum. hmmm... that sounds a lot like "you better not duck me son". You woudlnt be Keith Thurman now would you? :D
What you mean Floyd Mayweather Jr.? Mayweather chin is superb actually, he never was put on his ass due to his chin.
I meant it as Floyd being an excellent defensive fighter who is hard to hit.

Based on what exactly?
Jesus Christ, talk about hype. Lets see:
*Boxing skills? Nope, at least not yet. He bangs a bit, jumps around but nothing to write home about.
*Speed? Not really.
*How about defense? Nope, you can throw a dead cat and it still lands on his face.
*How about power? He landed on Zaveck during all 12 rounds, he did, Zaveck is no Floyd Mayweather Jr., yet he didnt hurt him nor did he KO him in spite of a 1st round kidney shot that should have been the end of him.
He's got no significant KO power in those punched, other than puffing like Maria Sharapova with each punch.
He's no normal banger for sure, because he's hardly a banger at all with the punching power he's shown so far, KO nobodies and failing to KO the first guy that somewhat knows how to keep his hands up during a fight.

He's not your normal banger. Sky's the limit for this kid.
P.S. His workrate is a big reason to get behind this kid. He can keep a pace, and that's very important for a boxer/puncher.

That's what makes him dangerous, he knows how to stay out of trouble with his movement, then he explodes with combinations.
Yep. I normally never get behind someone that's so raw, and inexperienced, but I just see something in Thurman that's rare. You can't exploit this kid, even if you're a crafty fighter. He can move too, and has a much better than "punchers' chance" against you.

Agree. His style is a nightmare for anyone at 147. Banger than can move and has boxing skills. C'mon man.

I hate to put myself out there for an unproven fighter like Thurman but I see him running through a lot of fighters at 147, we'll have to wait though, agree with bold.

I'll hold off the hype until he fights a Devon Alexander, Bradley, Marquez, Rios, Maidana, Guerrero, etc. (A through B-) type of fighter.
For what it's worth I think his fun to watch. He looks raw but he's still young and only has 20 fights on his resume.
I think people are overrating where Marquez is at, I don't think he looked all that despite impressively putting Pacquiao to sleep, I think age will show itself against Tim.

These fighters that cover up like that, it's hard to look good against them. We seen Martinez go through it, Fortuna not too long ago went through that. Thurman in my opinion looked impressive.

Okay, I get you now. Zaveck is an elite A level fighter who was pitching a shutout against ATG Bumto until he was controversially stopped in the fifth round even though Bumto had hardly landed a punch on him. And Thurman's 12 round UD over Zaveck was a masterclass reflective of a true Top 3 P4P fighter in the making.

THANK YOU!!!
Nah, but for real. I think it's a case of you not giving Thurman enough credit for his win over Zaveck, and hyping up Berto's "stoppage" over Zaveck a bit too much.
1) Are you kidding me? Watch that fight again and please tell me that Berto didn't look like he gassed HARD, and was well on his way of getting KO'd. Do you know how to watch boxing, or does it just fit your agenda to say that Zaveck was in more trouble than Berto? If you've watched enough boxing, you'd realize the momentum was shifting in Zaveck's favor, and Berto was getting hit WAY more than he should've. With Berto's track record, anyone with half a brain cell could tell he was gonna be in trouble if the fight hadn't been stopped due to cuts.
2) WTF are you smoking? He had an adrenaline dump during the fight, but then got his 2nd wind, and kept his foot on the gas. I believe Max Kellerman was the commentator, and he was pointing out how impressive it was for Thurman to still be landing shots with conviction throughout the whole fight, and didn't think he could do that.

If you'd watched the fight you'd know it was really quite fortunate (for Zaveck; no sh*t) that they stopped the fight and no one here (or anywhere) really rates Berto anyway.
If you watched the Thurman v. Zaveck fight you should know that Thurman was gassing halfway through the fight and was getting caught with a lot of punches. Don't get me wrong though, I do think Thurman will beat Chaves, but he's a very raw fighter.

EDIT: Why would you post that video? Skip to the 4th and 5th round. Berto looks like he's in a 15 round war with Zaveck. That video just proves my point. LMAO.
And you have the audacity to say that Thurman looked bad in there with the same guy? WOW.
Funny, no he didn't stop Zaveck. Did you even watch the fight???
The fight got stopped due to cuts. Berto was fading badly, and looked ripe for the picking. Berto was getting hit with crazy shots by Zaveck. Zaveck landed like 2-3 meaningful shots against Thurman in all 12 rounds.
You're one of those Boxrec warriors huh?

I still got all my points on a Thurman win if anyone wants to take it.
Chaves has been dropped a few times by nobodies, I've seen him fight, he just isn't on the same level as Thurman.
Keith gets made out to be just a big puncher, he's definitely much more than that.
