How much will Lara have left after the Angulo War ? I'm not a fan at all of Lara as he is lack-luster and doesn't want to fight. He impressed me in the Angulo and Williams fights with his quickness but I still have questions about his heart. He was beaten badly by Molina and has struggled mightly against some stiffs too. I still see him as a fringe contender at 154. I have him at # 11.
:boxing::boxing::boxing:
Thoughts ???
He'll be fine, got good experience against a good pressure fighter and showed a lot of heart.
I think the question is if Angulo will be able to continue his career after getting is face broken in.
His reputation definitley took a hit
#11? Thats ridiculous. He's one of the better fighters in the division. Can you name 10 better fighters than him in the division (skill-wise+record)?
My top 10 at 154 right now:
1 Floyd
2 Canelo
3 Trout
4 Cotto
5 Molina...he beat Lara..great resume
6 K9..former world champ with pretty good resume
7 Ishe Smith..world champ..better competition
8 Kirkland 31-1 w/ 27 KO. I think he KTFO's Lara in less than 3 if he trains.
9 Vanes M (32-0)..and he was beating Lara handidly
10 Zaurbek Baysangurov (28-1)...he looked terrible vs K9 but is fighting Andrade soon,we'll all see if he is deserving or not.
I guess that right now in his career that you could make a case for Lara at maybe # 10,at best. The Angulo win moved him up my list from stepping stone to contender though, I will give him credit there.

Molina 7 rounds to 2 and you can give Lara the 1st round gift,if you want.
Coming up with anything but 97-93 or 98-92 for Moilna would be criminal. It would be like me saying that Paul Williams beat Lara or Bradley really beat Pac-man. I've been around boxing way too long for that. But hey decisions are final and certainly subjective.
Let's get Lara vs Kirkland next !!!
A nice battle of fringe top 10 fighters at 154.

your delusional my dude .... punch stats are overated like crazy i could give to many examples ... if you throw 100 punches in one rd then do nothing in the next few rounds it will average out cause in that one rd he went crazy with the 100 but you still lose the next few rds but the stats will show that 100 in there smh i seen the fight twice molina outclassed him? i not here trying to defend lara at all but you are saying silly things.. molina held lara over 60 times in that fight it was a sloppy fight ... but straight lefts from lara kept landing while molina was busy but never really hit lara flush ... i say molina won by a rd or vice versa bu jesus you said "beaten badly" then "outclassed" lets be serious
this man said lara was beaten badly by molina lol .... did you even see the fight ... molina held like crazy i dont even think he hit lara flush .. i saw the fight twice i still have lara winning but hey it was close gone either way ... but one thing for sure is lara busted molina's face up ... also i think in 7th not 100 on that he made him wobble and hold on .... in the end fight i rather have been lara than molina that's for sure ... but you saying molina beat him badly is a joke smh

Lara was out-classed easily by Molina and was losing to Vanes.Angulo was playing pinball with his ribcage until the KO. Give Lara credit for this fight,no doubt it was impressive and a huge win for him over a top 12-15 fighter at 154 lbs...but come on man...Put the Coolaid down ...and watch both those fights. I actually think that Paul Williams was closer to beating Lara than Lara was to getting a draw vs Molina. Moilna won 6/10 rounds on the Lara family scorecard..lol. Vanes controlled Lara in what was a horrible fight. Lara takes too many rounds off.:boxing::boxing::boxing:

I think Angulo took those punches because he was fighting a MW and he was a LHW, on top of that the ring was made for a brawler avery small ring and that has something to do with the way Lara had to fight, don't be a hater and enjoy...
Lara didn't take a beating at all. His defense was very crisp for the most part. Angulo was limited to beating on Lara's body, and it didn't really seem to hurt Lara.
He got caught with very few punches to the head, and was barely marked up after the fight.
I don't think he will have any lasting effects from the fight.
I don't think one hard fight in which he was floored twice but went on to win by TKO should take anything out of a strong young fighter. It may increase his self confidence knowing he can take all that and come out the winner. I think Lara will be just as hard to beat as ever in his next fight. He is one of the best 154 pounders in the world and he will still have a hard time getting other top guys to fight him.Unlike Schaefer I would like to see a fight between Lara and Trout.
Should take much or anything out of him. I'm surprised he had so much trouble with a slow come forward guy like angulo
I think Angulo looked pretty good in there to be honest. He cut the ring off pretty well and obviously has a great chin and power, just these three traits will make this version of Angulo a tough fight for most at 154.
Lara dealt with him reasonably well bearing in mind he was forced out of his comfort zone (he doesnt normally move that much). He never panicked and kept on plugging away throwing hurtful shots. I'd have liked him to throw more body shots to slow down Angulo though, and if i was his trainer i'd probably tell him to just grab hold of Angulo's left arm on the inside should they fight again (as a fan i prefer his way though).
To the op, we've all seen fighters come back from much worse than what happened to Lara, i mean he did win the fight after all... We'll see come his next fight but i'd be surprised if it took that much out of him
Lara was dropped two times by single shots. He will not be affected by the knockdowns, he earned heart by getting back up and fighting back. Future opponents will make the mistake of thinking Lara has no chin and they will try to come face first at him and will suffer a beating. Angulo has a iron chin and kept coming with relentless shots after eating left after left from Lara.
Angulo will have nothing left after this unfortunately. Hopefully he can get a couple of paydays after this injury
Another hater... After Saturday night you still question his heart? Lol the stupidity of some people on here.
Do you question Angulo's heart too for quitting?

No,Lara showed heart in this fight and Angulo too as it was a WAR !!! I still only question Lara's heart and desire to become a true contender at 154. I mean he looked terrible vs Vanes and Molina, almost like he goes through the motions.I have noticed this as maybe a style defect in the Cubans who were great amateurs. They do seem to win a ton fights but lack that "ummph." I like Gamboa a lot but he is becoming a safety fighter and getting hit too much. Rigo is a master boxer but forgets to let his hands go and Lara seems to me to take 3-4 rounds off each fight.

Gotta give credit to Angulo for that. I mean Lara was just tagging Angulo over and over again, I think he did all he could to fend off Angulo and ultimately it paid off.
