I like to think about this fantasy matchup because Pacquiao was far more raw and relentless than he was in the lightweight and welterweight division. At the same time you have Rigondeaux who is the exact opposite, who relies on skill and technique. They both have blindingly fast speed.
This is a hypothetical match up that I haven't seen yet.
So I want to know: who've you got and why?
Rigo played it super safe against donaire last time given that was his strategy to play with donaire's style. he was definitely smartly outboxing and frustrating donaire but he was also doing super less offensively by having it done. I scored the donaire-rigondeaux 113-115 for rigondeaux because offensively none was way ahead against the other but the thing is the other one is already frustrated. pacquiao is someone who is able to let his type of fight come out in every one of his fights. we've seen him gotten outboxed but never did we see him didn't fight his fight (pressure, combos and relentlessness) the closes weve seen him fighting the phase of his opponents were against bradley and marquez. yet for the most part he was still able to apply his kind of fight.
against rigondeaux. i believe he can apply his fight and get a win. That fight wasn't even close...even counting the suckerpunch KD on the break.

How did you manage to accomplish that?
I still have it 118-108 Rigondeaux, winning every round outside of 10, purely because of the KD...which only happened because he was expecting a ref break and stopped.
What was Donaire supposed to do to Rigo? Why was Pacquiao sleeping in public?
Of course I've got some bucks for Rigo UD :burnout:
Pac is declining since the Margarito fight, I've got Marquez via SD on the 4th fight but well anything can happen, just like I wasn't expecting for Dawson.
I also had Cotto over Pac last 2009 :frown:
If Pacquiao vs Barerra didn't happened, MAB would KO Pac in a fantasy fights 1000 to 1. MAB is just too skilled for Pac!

Hang on, Pac would make Rigondeaux look like an amateur? Come on...
The most technically gifted fighter in the game made to look like an amateur by a young, reckless Pac who himself has looked amateur-ish many times?
If someone was going to be made to look like an amateur, it would be Pac again. There is no fighter on this planet making Guillermo Rigondeaux look like an amateur.
Marquez is a Mini-Rigo skill wise , doesn't have the hitting power of Rigondeax
and the history shows that every single fight between Pacquiao vs Marquez was competitive " despite the fact that Pacquiao had 2 wins and draw "
that is why I see Rigondeaux K.Oing Pacquiao late , and UD him if he was in his bad day .
Rigondeaux UD any version of Mayweather too.
and I said this before Donaire fight
Manny, I honestly don't think Rigondeaux can avoid that kind of speed and explosiveness for 12 rounds, while I'm almost certain Pacquiao can survive Rigondeaux's onslaught, as he's done throughout his career. I'd go with Pacquiao comfortably.
Same. Pac was so relentless then, and he had the skills and physical gifts to back it up.
Rigo is good but Manny Pacquiao would make him look like an amateur. One good win nowdays and members automatically put a fighter with the all time greats.
Yup.... Donaire was supposed to make him look like an amateur too and guess who was the amateur looking fighter that night?

When Donaire let his rage take control he scored the knockdown, and well we all know how Pac was back in the day.. not to mention Rigo will not have the advantage of fighting against a righty.
I could see a win for either man, but we've never seen Rigo fight anyone that simulates Pacquiao.
Pac by TKO late rounds 8-10
Donaire scored the KD on the clinch when his opponent was expecting a break. Legit KD and Rigo's fault but Rigo took bigger shots than that throughout the fight and was unaffected.
We have seen Pacquiao struggle vs counter punchers like JMM and Rigo is a much better technician than him. Rigo has the much better body work than JMM and much faster hands too.

cmon guys styles make fights...a young Pacquiao @ 126 already had huge problems with a slick defensive fighter in JMM and Rigo is by far better developed in the defensive area than every JMM + much more experience & faster than him. Rigo by UD.
pacquiao hits harder, has a better chin, threw more punches, and was faster of hand and foot than donaire.
his feet were unreal until late in his WW run, when he started to slow, take portions of the rounds off, and develop cramping.
This so much.
Pacquaio would destroy him, he literally leaves no room for relaxing, thinking or setting up at that weight class. He would bombard Rigo with flurries all night and chase him around the ring leading to a TKO/wide UD.

Rigo by stoppage hands down.
Pac was far too raw at that stage of his career to compete with rigo. Rigo would be way too smart and skilled for him. Neutralizing pacquiaos power and aggression would be easy, only a question of how bad a beating pac could take before being stopped.
