We are hearing now from a lot of people that Floyd vs Canelo is "the fight of the century". Well, I see it like this: Canelo never fought a prime, top opponent until Trout, so Trout was the first BIG test for him; and on my scorecard Trout won this fight. Only by 1 point, but still he won.
So - Floyd vs Canelo can be sold by the media as such a big fight for only one reason: because both have a lot of PPV buyers.
Anybody wanting to tell me Canelo is a top 40 p4p fighter at this point has got to be joking.
I see it like this: Canelo is physically bigger than Floyd, actually he is the first natural light middleweight Floyd will be facing (Oscar and Cotto came from much lower weight classes when they fought Floyd at 154).
But as far as I am concerned, Canelo is a good fighter who never fought ANYBODY in his prime except Trout who he lost to.
I had Trout winning by 1pt, but the official card is what really matters.
I get tired of people saying oh well Matthysee really undefeated or oh Pac dominated Bradley....Accept the loss and move on.
I thought Trout was robbed. He barely did **** in the fight but 20
jabs means more to me than 2 or 3 power punches so I just couldn't give most of those rounds to Canelo because it just wasn't enough.
Only difference is that ten years from now, nobody will be crying like children over the Canelo-Trout fight.
To this day you have butt-hurt, grown men throwing tantrums over Floyd v Castillo in 2001 :lol1:
Its pathetic.
That said, I didn't see the Canelo Trout fight. I'll watch it later.
I don't blame them. Floyd markets himself as being undefeated and unbeatable. Boxing casuals(the majority of Floyd's PPV buyer$) don't know about him receiving a gift against Castillo. The only difference the Castillo and Trout "robbery" was that Trout knew he would have to take it to Alvarez to win. He didn't.
and Bhop won that toooo.../
Nah dood. I am by NO means any kind of fan that in any way shape or form might admire Calzaghe. But he won that fight. Much as I hate to admit it and give a lil' sugar to some of Calzaghe's more slobberingly moronic, jingoistic, babosote, fans.
Wish he had.
Nah. Canelo won that fight clearly, though not by a giant margin.
I think alot of the controversy might just be team slick black in denial.
Kinda' like B-Hop and Calzaghe.

It was a close fight, but Canelo won. Trout had plenty of opportunities to counter Canelo with a few eye-catching punches, but he only landed a few pitty-pat arm punches. The knockdown sealed it for Canelo. 8-4 Canelo
I saw Canelo winning the fight. No arguments there. Now, I do agree that Trout was the only on his prime boxer that Canelo has faced and I also agree that his record is inflated.
I belive that Floyd will beat him with ease. Just like he did with Guerrero.

canelo is not prime himself yet,but i can tell you if you put canelo in front of floyds last 5 oponents he destroys each and every one of them... and that includes cotto...

I had Trout winning the fight by winning the 12th, however the fight dynamics was ruined by open scoring, as Canelo had an uncatchable lead and was coasting at that point
This is ridiculous trout himself admitted defeat, said that the way canelo fought was very different than he expected or made up a game plan 4, he said the better fighter won and showed no animosity towards the judges 4 the scoring, I had it close scoring I believe 115-112 but I thought it was a very easy fight 4 him and after 8 when he knew according to the judges scores trout couldn't win all he had to do was stay alive and not get ko'd
