The difference between this fight and say Cotto at 145 is Canelos saying the weight isnt a problem. Scheafer and Canelo probably already had 152 as a number they would be whilling to except if worse came to worse. That wasnt the case with Cotto. Cotto went kicking and screaming. He didnt want the fight at 145. He threatened to surrender his title and I remember the WBO getting involved. Not the same thing here.
Hahahahaha thats absolute garbage! Cotto said both before and after that the weight was not a problem. Lol floydiots.
What's better, a catch weigh of 147 only? Or 152? Had Andre Ward fought Chad Dawson at 173, instead of 168, wouldn't that have made his win more legit?

canelo also isn't coming off two brutal beatdowns like cotto but i digress.......still a b!tch move by floyd though.
true...ellerby says even if canelo weighed 200 lbs money would still whip him....so if that's the case....fight him at 154

who wants to hear if its fair or not? hahah
im just here to laugh at the hypocrazy of the floyd d!kriders
now sounds like ur one of them :lol1:
closet d!ckrider u are... :nonono:
suuuuuuuuuuuure.
u caught me detective private eye.
hahah dude ur missing the point of whats funny about it.... stop trying to save floyd ur just making urself look like one of the d!ckriders
thing is floyd fanboys doesnt like catchweights now they are saying its okay :lol1: man my tummy hurts from laughing
missing what point? i gave to you the facts....I'm telling u whats right and whats wrong in my opinion (and you tell me about a floyd d*ck rider?) i tell you that 152 is fair to both men, and in return u tell me about what someone else said? WTF
another funny thing is he is a 154 champ fighting another 154 champ @ 152 LMAO
:lol1:
accept it its funny as shlt :lol1:
now these are facts..........something that i can talk about. ok, mayweather defended the title against cotto (who had most of his fights at welterweight) and against oscar (who was more of a money fight) canelo has pulled jr welterwights up to middleweight for years.........i say it makes sense considering that canelo would blow up to 172 & mayweather doesn't really fight at 154 (he comes in at 151 for a 154 fight)
if you don't see how 152 is fair, theres something missing..........now is it b*tchy and diva like. YES. but thats an entire different discussion. 152 is fair to both men.......
even if its comparable to what manny did its very funny to see how floyd fans switch from "its bulshlt for asking catchweights" to saying "its fine coz canelo is too big!" :lol1: this gotta be the best hypocrazy from floyd d!ckriders
for those who sh*ted on manny for catchweights it's silly...........but apart from that. 152 is fair (no way around it) although i think it's b*tchy of the mayweathers. it's still fair..........

This was literally their stance on CW's just a little over 2 hours ago- :lol1:
Asking for catchweights is an admission of inadequacy. Demanding that a opponent cut weight is the equivalent of saying "I can't win without help".
That's it in a nutshell.
Some one had to give. 154 isnt Floyds natural weight class even though hes fought there twice. Thats probably why hes looked beatable in both fights. We need to know more about the night of the fight stipulations. Manny weighing 148 while Oscar weighing 147 the night of the fight is not necessarily the same thing. Canelo is 22 and can recover after the weigh in. Although Floyds probably going to take some bad ink by the press for the catch weight.
Floyd's going to "take some bad ink" no matter what he does, except when he signs his paychecks.....
The Puerto Rican, 34-1 (27 KOs), is the underdog for Saturday's scheduled 12-round bout but believes his power will prevail over Pacquiao's renowned hand speed.
"I'm prepared for the speed of Manny," Cotto said. "My hand speed is pretty equal to Manny's. But can Manny's power equal Miguel Cotto's on Saturday night? I am very calm. I have been doing this for many years."
A former WBO light-welterweight and WBA welterweight champion, Cotto said he had been energised by the success of his Florida training camp under new head trainer, Joe Santiago.
"The training camp we had, that's going to make the difference," he added.
Cotto was previously trained by his uncle, Evangelista, but the two fell out after a heated argument, paving the way for the 31-year-old Santiago to take over.
Although Pacquiao's outspoken trainer Freddie Roach has cast doubt on Santiago's experience, Cotto feels the change has been a very positive one.
"When you have good communication with all the members of your team, an integrated team, and they put their efforts together to really make Miguel Cotto the best Miguel Cotto he can be, it makes a very comfortable training camp," he said.
Pacquiao, (49-3-2, 37 KOs), was mobbed by more than 1,000 cheering fans on his arrival at the MGM Grand on Tuesday and is certain to attract most of the support at the 16,000-seat arena on Saturday.
Cotto, however, was unconcerned.
"On fight night it is going to be just Manny, Miguel Cotto and the referee inside the ring," said the Puerto Rican, who retained his WBO title with a split decision win over Ghana's Joshua Clottey in June.
"Nobody can come and give anything to Manny."
Cotto was also unfazed by suggestions he was being underestimated by the Pacquiao camp, which has been touting the possibility of a lucrative bout with undefeated American welterweight Floyd Mayweather Jr early next year.
"I'm focused on this fight," he said. "When I beat him this Saturday, he can think about whatever opponents he wants."
Im talking about pre training camp. The WBO forced Cotto to put his title up and Manny offered to pay Cottos sanctioning fees. But he still accepted the fight so it is what it is. Now I think Cottos trainer had the wrong game plan and thats what cost him the fight more than the catch weight. Cottos always faded late in fights. He did it at 140, 147, and 154.
floyd's the best fighter of our generation. he shouldn't be using catchweights against a fighter like alvarez, especially after talking all that smack about pacquiao using them. i'm sure mayweather could beat this kid's ass even if he came at 160, but it just makes things look bad having this be at 152. it gives alvarez and his fans a built in excuse after the fight.

well canelo is also very young and has little to no wear on his body............cotto had been through his wars.
i don't think it's comparable.........
