As usual the NSB idiots have lined up to call Andre Ward a ducker before anything of any substance even happens. Froch himself, in his comments to SKY after the fight, seemed to want to put the brakes on Andre Ward talk and Andre Ward in his comments to SKY said very plainly - "they say they want it, now they need to prove it".
Kessler did the same thing the past year and a half. He and his promoter talked non stop about Ward. They talked about his lack of sales, his lack of earnings, how much more he could make in Denmark, etc etc. However, when it came right down to it they never made an offer. Never picked up the phone. Never backed up their words.
Hearn/Froch need to make an offer, in writing, to Andre Ward for a purse that meets or exceeds what Kessler made this past Saturday (rumor between 2-2.5 mill) for people to say Ward has ducked him.
Will that ever actually happen? I think the chances are very slim and here is why...
The fact that Froch is considering Bernard Hopkins tells you that he is not being completely honest when he talks about why he should or shouldn't fight Ward.
When on the topic of Ward he repeatedly criticizes his style and says that he doesn't make for good fights for the fans. However, you have to be either blind or nuts to say that Hopkins not only makes for sh*t fights, but is ever worse to watch than Ward at this point. BHop throws about 25 punches a round at his most active.
So if Froch says he won't fight Ward cause it's no good for fans, then says he will fight an ancient Hopkins, who is no good for fans --- then there must be some other reason he really doesn't want it with Ward.
I am a big Froch fan - for the record. I just don't think he actually wants this fight with Ward at the moment. So people already trying to rip Ward for it not happening should just shut up and see if Hearn/Froch even make Ward a ****ty as lowball offer or if they decide to just go silent altogether.
In theory it sounds good but where will it be?
Kessler gave Froch his word on the rematch in the UK and followed through but I hardly think he will do it again.
If the fight is not in the UK or Denmark it's not going to make enough money to support the same kind of purses their 2nd go round did.
The only other place it makes good money is Germany and I think Froch/Hearn are smart enough to realize that fighting a Sauerland fighter in Germany is an even worse proposition than fighting Kessler in Copenhagen,
Amsterdam probably. Who isn't interested in going there for a weekend?
We should remember the Danish fans didn't get a chance to buy tickets for the 02.
Europeans fans are obsessed with arena attendance and don't realize its the smallest factor in overall generation of money.
Froch-Kessler had 18,000 people in attendance and probably could have drawn 25,000 if the venue supported it.
You're conveniently ignoring it was also on PPV. If I'm not mistaken Froch v Ward II would be Ward's first PPV fight.
What are you talking about? Ward doesn't bring anything to the table except a belt..... Wards the guy that is looked at as the number 1 fighter and also completely dismantled Froch in the first meeting. He brings so much more to the table than Kesslers fanbase, he brings legacy for Frochs career. That's if Froch were to win. Ward does deserve as much as Kessler if he's willing to travel to England. If Froch truly wants to enhance his resume his team and promoter need to anti up. Why would Ward travel to fight a guy that he already clearly beat for only 500,000 more dollars than he made against Dawson? Please think things out more clearly next time.
Ward doesn't need Froch but Froch at this point in his career clearly needs Ward if he has any passion about his career. To avenge his loss to Ward would surely go a long way.
If Froch were to beat Ward he would be the Ring Champion, the real WBA champion and he would jump to the top 5 on the p4p list.
Each one of those things would individually mean more than any of the paper titles Froch currently has.
If Ward beats Froch he gets a WBA title he already has and an IBF title that means nothing.

Thomas Hearns - Marvin Hagler had just over 15,000 attendance.
Now I will just sit back and wait for one of our genius UK posters to tell us that Froch is a bigger draw than Hagler or Hearns and obviously would deserve a larger purse if he were to fight someone of their limited drawing power.
To be honest, it looks like Sauerland, Hearn and Froch want Kessler III next. It's as though the only person who can prevent it happening is Mikkel Kessler.
Reason I posted the link is because it's showing a pattern with Froch and his public statements.
I will fight Ward but......
I will fight Ward if.........
Yes he keeps saying he wants the fight, but he never makes it through another couple sentences without adding a half dozen asterisks to the original statement.

I think there will be an "offer" just to save face, but not a legit one that they actually have to worry about Ward accepting.
If the Kessler purse was 3 million I think Ward can get done for the same. People speculating that Ward wants 5-7 million are full of crap.
If Froch offered him 3 million to go to London and he turned it down that would be a duck.
If Froch offers him 1.5 million to go to London then clearly he is taking the piss and didnt want the fight.

I think if Froch is serious about fighting Ward then he has to make him an offer. But, what I would say is that it is still early days. On the video posted above Hearn says they haven't even properly talked through the options yet.

I don't see as avoiding the fight if he doesn't want to. Froch is the challenger. Froch is the one that needs to avenge the fight not the other way around. I find froch's insistence that he holds the cards stupid if he means it.
I do get the feeling that he knows he doesn't, but he's laying the groundwork for not fighting Ward anytime soon. He can now point out that Ward "avoided" him and seems to be that plenty of fans are buying it.
Yes. This is all clearly contrived PR to save face over the fact that they will not make an honest effort to get Ward to the UK.
One thing I can tell you for sure is if a British fighter and promoter say that an American is ducking them, the British fans will accept it at face value even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
Not aimed at anyone in particular.
I do think that Ward should go to the UK simply for financial reasons. But he doesn't have to.

In the link you've posted Froch has challenged Ward to come and get the titles. There are no offers to anyone yet.
I would think that you know better than to take Froch's paper titles seriously.
Those titles get him zero leverage, especially that horrible WBA strap that is arguably the worst joke of a title in the entire sport.
If thats aimed at me, my point wasn't about the titles, just that Hitman posted a link where Froch actually challenges Ward to fight him in the UK (irrespective of whether he prefers Kessler's style as an opponent).

Titles are not leverage. Especially Froch's when we all know Ward is the king of the division.

How do you duck someone you already beat soundly and who wants you to come to his house, with his ref, with his crowd, in order to even have a shot?
jesus christ. its one thign for boxers to speak out of their ass, its another for fans to be willfully stupid about it.
Froch backpedaling hard, trying to poopoo a Ward rematch as much as possible.

Told y'all there wouldn't even be an offer and all these tards are in a hurry to call Ward the coward for not going to the UK when Froch is afraid to even offer Andre a fight in London.
Wow.
I love me some Cobra but he is pretty transparent here. He should stop sh*tting on Ward if he has no desire to fight him, it's a bad look on a guy who prides himself on fighting anyone anywhere.

lets be honest, this fight isnt gonna happen. there will be no offere for the the simple fact that froch does not want to fight ward again. it will kill his momentum and hes bascially guaranteed a loss, even his fans accept that.
Interesting answers from Hearn regarding potential Froch opponents:
Golovkin - likes the fight
Chavez Jr. - likes the fight
Stieglitz - possible, but it's not a huge fight
Hopkins - doesn't like the catchweight
Cleverly - doesn't like the catchweight
Ward - doesn't sound keen, repeats the Ward doesn't want to fight in UK stuff
Kessler III - loves the fight, talking Amsterdam Arena or Wembley as venue
Groves - wants the fight in Spring-Summer 2014, says Groves needs a big win, doesn't want Groves-DeGale II
Burns will fight in September and December. Vasquez, Beltran, Bogere and Rees potential opponents.
I highly doubt anyone would go but a few UK Ward fans and Froch haters. Froch fans wouldnt come to watch their guy in a sure loss.
We're much more loyal than that
Ward doesn't deserve as much as Kessler. The guy is boring and Froch would have to work twice as hard to sell tickets.
Ward would be lucky with £1m.
