How many of his opponents has he actually weighed more than on fight night? the only fighter that floyd has ever faced that was smaller than him is juan manuel marquez. floyd is a natural jr welter.he started his career out at 130lbs.he went to welterweight because of the money.he walks around daily ay 155lbs. all the jr welters enter the ring weighing more than moey.so stop crying. If you fought most of your previous fights at 130 or 135 or 140 and then fight a guy who has been at 147 or more since 2005, then the advantage usually goes to the guy with more experience at 147. You can come in at higher than Floyd on fight night but that doesn't mean that they have the years of ring experience against 147 or 154 fighters. EXAMPLE: Floyd fought at 154 then his next opponent is someone who a year ago hadn't fought at 140 nor 147 and only beat 1 or 2 average fighters at 147 who have losing records of late at WW. Now add the fact that the reason Floyd doesn't gain much weight because he is a ring rat and comes in great shape. Now does it really matter if the opponent comes in heavier? Does heavier translate to being in better shape than Floyd? Actually, especially for a fighter who recently moved up, it may be a detriment for that fighter since he may become slower, have a lower work-rate and be more lethargic ..... therefore giving the already faster Floyd even MORE of an advantage.
