If Present day Boxing still only consisted of 8 Weight Divisions and 1 champion at each weight then who would they be? And which high level fighters do you think would struggle to compete due to the limited weight classes. Here's my thoughts
Heavyweight: Wladimir Klitschko
Light Heavyweight: Andre Ward
Middleweight: Saul Alvarez
Welterweight: Floyd Mayweather
Lightweight: Adrien Broner
Featherweight: Guillermo Rigondeaux
Bantamweight: Anselmo Moreno
Flyweight: Juan Francisco Estrada
Boxers who would struggle: Amir Khan :lol1:

but are you limiting a boxer to only one title at a time?
Bring on Khan v Wlad :D
Funnily enough, I feel that if Wlad was a 140 fighter he'd resemble Amir Khan.
And I don't mean that as an insult - I'm a fan of both.
.................don't forget the 8am weighin the day of the fight!!! Catchweight 10 rounders are fine but NO Title matches can be made with +weight!
Then you'll see guys fight at their real in top condition weights and you will see better matches. A guy who weighs 145 can easily be a welter, the welter can rehydrtate to 155-156 off the 147 limit the 145 guy can have two good meals after the weighin and be at 147-48. If your talented 7 to 8 pounds isn't alot to me when under 160!! Thats the way it was done and believe me when you weighin the morning of the fight you won't hydrate 20 to 25 pounds up from that in less than 24 hours because your body will reject the stress of the fight! You'll be sweating your head off and your metabolizm will be so far off you'll be out of shape by the 8th round or sooner! Ray.
Well said Ray.
The 24 hour rule is good for the health of fighters but unfair on the real fighters at the weight.
I'm sorry but the eight traditional weights thing is a myth created by The Ring.
Lightwelter has been around since 1926 & has had some amazing fighters in it too.
If you REALLY want to be traditional let's go back to the old English style, Light (under 140 pounds) & Heavy (over 140 pounds).

Rios and Chavez Jr would not be who they are today if that was still in effect.

Martinez still at middle. Can't go with a dude who's fighting the Ishidas of the world. As much as I like him the list would look like the p4p list.
Floyd, Wlad, Sergio, Rigo, Ward, JMM (possibly, but I think Pac would have stayed an dominated at LW) and the rest as mentioned.
They'd probably be more dominant... Guys like Floyd and martinez wouldnt always be the smaller guy, etc.
Good list but i'd have Murray at MW (He beat Martinez) and JMM at LW he can still make that weight IMO.
If JMM could make lightweight he would be champ definitely i just think hes a little too old now to be cutting the weight
