if Broner beats Malignaggi, two Al Haymon fighters will be champs in the same division, which probably means they'll be fighting the same crop of opponents for as long as May is still in boxing. Does anybody else see this as being potentially problematic? Neither guy will be fighting Top Rank opponents, and I don't think either fighting is going to be venturing up to 154 too often. They could be cutting into each other's list of viable opponents which means we could see more mismatches or have their matches become more infrequent. Or we could have scenarios where a fighter that we want to see Mayweather up against ends up getting fed to Broner instead. Hopefully Broner goes down to 140 after the Malignaggi fight, so the two fighters can fight the best of two divisions instead of just one.
We all know if Broner wins the person interviewing him after the fight will ask him whats next. I expect something along the lines
" you know, im gonna sit down with my team, golden boy and Al haymond and see whats next, anyone can get. Thank god, band camp. Im going to enjoy this victory"
Wont get a direct answer, I doubt he will drop any names. If he does it will be Ricky Burns name.
I really hope he proves me wrong and calls out some legit 140 pounders, 147 pounders that make exciting fights. Myabe he will get Lopez vs Marcus winner. Hopefully he keeps Shane Mosleys name out of his mouth.
he's not goin to 140...Lucasaurus Rex is there well he garcia and matthysse are all haymon fighters so hopefully eventually they'll probably all fight since schaefer claim 90% lucas and danny is up next the means 10% chance any of the three will actually shoot 5
Too bad khan won't fight in sept or oct. broner vs khan makes a lot of sense if he beats paulie. Then if the winner of that fights the Danny Lucas winner. That's a real tourney not the made up crap Richard is doing
