Even if Floyd beats Canelo, I will still hate on him, because I’m sure we all agree here, Floyd is an incredible talent, but because of his ducking and dodging the best throughout his career, he literally has no competition now.
All he had to do was beat Pac n 2010 and he would have had that one prime all time great on his list.
But retiring instead of fight Paul Williams, Margarito, Pacuiao just puts a huge cloud on wear I place him with the all time greats.
He did it to himself, no matter who he fights now they do nothing fort his resume, even Martinez is done.

Very true also remember hes been pushed very close in atleast 2 of his fights the first fight against Castillo obviously should have been a loss and the fight against Delahoya could have gone either way so if you think about it he could easily have 2 losses on his record at this point. Whereas theres other fighters out there i.e. Ward whose killing off the top competitors and winning clearly so personally I think mayweathers been not only cherry picking but also lucky but hes still great obviously.
Well Golovkin can make 154 so it wouldn't be at 160. Not saying he should fight him, just saying that would be a hell of a win for his record.
I do agree with you however, Canelo is not a great win. Prime Pacquiao is a great win since he's an 8 division champ.
How is beating GGG "a hell of a win for his record" but beating Canelo isnt?

My god you are a Flo-Mo, anyway the only guy on there who didn’t fight Floyd because of himself is Cotto, everyone else was a duck, nobody knew Margarito used those loaded hand wraps in 05 you idiot, and thats when Floyd should have fought him. The things you guys do to defend this man is insane. So its okay to fight Shane Mosley the steroid abuser but not Margarito?
"Anyway the only guy on there who didn’t fight Floyd because of himself is Cotto"? What are you trying to say here? You can’t even type coherently or make sense.
My point proven exactly- you still use Margarito as an example. The man was a cheat and a disgrace. Everyone on these forums that disliked Floyd pleaded him to fight Mosley and said he would not take the fight. When Floyd won, Shane was "over the hill". Double standards.
If having a good knowledge of boxing and the history of the sport is a crime, well then maybe the "Flo-mo" tag is justified. Maybe think about what you are going to type next before doing so and getting owned.
People keep saying he will be the best of this generation are wrong, Pac will, Floyd will be remembered as the most talented, by why do people think he didn’t get voted fighter of the decade?
To much bobbing and weaving outside the ring.

After everything is said and done. Floyd will be remember not because of his undefeated record but his mastery of ducking worthy opponents.
Good job Floyd!
There's another thread where they seriously hating on him for saying canelo needs to come to 147 but if he fights him at 154 and wins he swill still get the same hate......ok
Anyway if he beats canelo at 154 he will still be the best of his era, an ATG (how high still to be seen and if he fights canelo next year it'll mean more), and a top 5 maybe top 3 defensive ATG.
I know it sucks to admit for some but it will go down. :boxing:

If Floyd fights and beats canelo with at 154 i will give him tons of credit.
I do think floyd is the best p4p of his generation but his lack of big fights with fighters in their prime ie cotto, manny, margarito will cost him dearly in the ATG rankings
It would be like saying how good SRL was but he didnt fight hearns or hagler
Or Oscar but he didnt fight tito, mosely and hopkins
Over the years, no matter how many fighters he fought- its always still his ducked this guy and ducked that guy. While Floyd and Manny not squaring off was the biggest disappointment in recent boxing history, it is well documented that both sides were at fault for the fight not happening. And im not going into those again. There are about 2 million threads on the forum already about it. So besides Manny, who did Floyd "duck". I remember all the haters saying no way he fights Mosley after he KO'd Cheatereto but then when Floyd won Shane was over the hill. Now Im not saying that Shane was in his prime but you cant have double standards. There are interviews where Roach admits Shane came looking to fight Manny, but Roach said no- Shane was to dangerous. Floyd took the fight. Manny didnt. Another point is why are Sugar Ray Leonard, Foreman and lots of other great fighters allowed to take breaks from the sport- but Floyd cant. Here are some fighters of the fighters I have seen mentioned over the years that he "ducked".
1. Paul Williams
The only legitimate opponent I can think of, where the argument is justified. Paul Williams at 147 was a physical freak- very hard fight on a physical level for Floyd. I think Al Haymon and co would have considered this a high risk low reward money fight.
2. Margarito (Cheating scumbag)
How any person can declare themselves a boxing fan after the actions of this low life scumbag I will never know. The man was using loaded wraps and still had 5 loses before the end of 2007. Cotto schooled him before gassing. Floyd would have schooled him and not gassed. Floyd would see his lame wide ass punches coming a mile away. As for the so called duck- Floyd got the same money to fight Carlos Baldomir for the lineal WW championship- or he could fight a cheating bum with no titles.
3. Cotto
Bob Arum kept Floyd and Cotto apart. Cotto has admitted in interviews that he never called out Floyd. They fought last year- Floyd won. Cotto was not in his prime but neither was Floyd and the fight was at 154lbs where cotto was healthy. Manny drained him to 145lbs.
4. Martinez
Never campaigned at welterweight when Floyd was a welterweight. End of discussion.
Floyd is a 5 weight world champion, who never used a catchweight to win his titles. Unlike other fighters.
And then people post that Manny is an 8 division champ in this thread Manny won two of those titles (WW and LMW) at catchweights. And Margarito wasnt a champion. He was a cheating weight drained bum.
great point but his replacement opponent for margarito was baldimir who posed no threat...and no one ever caught margarito b4 the mosley fight..he was considered a huge threat...he fights hatton who was a small undefeated opponent after his unretirement lol...but he had been previously exposed...floyd doesn't fight threatening opponents in his current state...he wants to keep his status...he shoulda fought pac...enwhich I think he woulda decisioned...but inside when things heated up he retired...than came back Wen things had cooled down...I actually think that he woulda beat all of those fighters he side step...he would whipped williams...pac he out pointed..cotto he stops..margarito is not even close...nd all of the others I forgot...but he sensed that they posed some type of risk..so he's at fault for this type of back lash...nd ur def on point bout roaches take on mosley b4 he fight mayweather

YEAH ! He can't change the past at this point. He didn't dodge everyone his whole career just everyone once he left 135. That was the start of his hall of fame cherry picking that even Frank Warren is in awe of. Looking back I think losing to Castillo the first time spooked him. Then he got terrified of losing his 0 most likely because he thinks the 0=$$$. Plus its pretty obvious from old interviews that his father was very against the Pacquiao fight and some others. Floyd prob always has the brain damage thing in the back of his mind because of Roger and SR.

You are absolutely right.
Canelo has what every other fighter has had so far. A Puncher's chance.
There is 0 chance of him outboxing or getting to Mayweather.
If he had this on his resume:
Mayweather W over 2005 Mosley
Mayweather W over 2006-07 Cotto
Mayweather W over 2008 Margarito
Mayweather W over 2009 Williams
Mayweather W over 2009 Pacquiao
Mayweather W over 2012 Martinez
He'd be one of the most respected boxers of all time if not THE most respected and beloved.
Canelo hasn’t done a thing in this sport to make me think Floyd needs him for a great win, all the real fighters back in 08 were the guys Floyd needed to prove his atg status, nobody today can do that for him. And I’m talking realistic fights, GGG being brought up, if Floyd is scared to fight Canelo at 154 he no way would he fight GGG at 160 (nor should he either)
agreed but the thing is the REAL ATGs ... Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran would ... and there in my friend is the difference and why floyd is a modern great but NOT even in the same league as the true all time greats.
I don't know if I'll still hate him, I'll tolerate him. Him fighting Canelo is an actual legit challenge, and if he fights and beats him at 154 I'll give him credit.

I dunno, a win over Gennady Golovkin would look pretty damn good. That would cement his status and definitely silence all doubters that aren't pac+ard$ or canelo buns (cinnamon buns).
Ur a f&g kid. U just sat there and typed I will still hate on him. I wish I could go a couple rounds with u to punch some respect into u.
Man I would jab you a few times then run for the rest of the fight, just like your idol

Too bad he never fought the one that mattered the most. :tragedy:
