I don't know whether to despise Brook or feel sorry for the dude. But Jones and Diaz - I'd tune in to watch both fights although I'd prefer a different opponent to Jones since he already beat him in a tight fight.
One thing that this interview could lead you to believe is that Hearns isn't mentioning Alexander as an opponent because he might be aware that Alexander is already tied up to face Khan after Purdy. What they said when Purdy was first announced as Alexander's opponent was that Brook would fight Alexander immediately after Purdy - looks like Khan might have changed all that. Just guessing based on what Hearn's now saying about Brook and the recent Khan vs Alexander talk.
It's probably because Brooke is no longer the manditory and gbp peobably wants nothing to do with him after being burned twice.
Alexander doesn't have anything lines up after, the Khan fight is all talk at this point.

Carson Jones is by no means the shot commodity Diaz is though. I think he can hang with anybody while Diaz at this point gets KO'd by top tier welters. Your right though Brook should have fared better if he is indeed the goods.
To be fair, Diaz is coming off maybe the most impressive 2 fight streak of his career. The guy used to have a Khan like chin at 135, and here he is not getting dropped by Porter or Khan, and giving both guys hell.
What? Lol.. Brook wasn't far better than Jones, that was just as close fight as Khan's fight with Diaz. Technically it was even closer if you remember one judge had it a draw another judge gave it to Brook by one round.
And both Jones and Diaz are probably around the same level as opponents (from a resume perspective) so make of it what you will.. If you completely trash Khan for what happened in the Diaz fight you have to completely trash Brook for what happened in the Jones fight.

They may as well just put a post it on his forehead saying "*****".
Two joke fights. Kell Brook has been mandatory for four years now (WBO and IBF) and he still hasn't fought for a title. Shame he isn't a light heavyweight because he would have his own paper title by now.
What a joke.
Hearn doesn't think the Diaz fight will happen now as he's pricing himself out.

Ok... I can understand Carson Jones cause it was an entertaining fight too but Julio Diaz? That's dumb as f*ck. Sounds like he wants to follow Haye's plans who's trying to outdo Vitali. Horrible.

He should definitely give Carson Jones the rematch there is unfinished business there. He can beat Julio Diaz in much more impressive fashion than Khan did and will make a statement with that. If he could get a GBP fighter in the ring that would be better but he might have missed out on Alexander. Looks like Khan will be filling his shoes there.
A fighter isn't far better than another fighter if by the end of the fight it's very close. There are many fights where one fighter starts off great but by the end of the fight it's razor close (see Pacquiao vs Marquez 1).
Stamina is your interpretation - others interpret it as Jones body shots which caused those issues. Using your terminology you would say Jones body shots is "simply what happened"..
it's not just that it was close, it was super stressful for the Brook fans and announcers. After about round 7 or 8, the question was will he make it out on his feet. I don't get the complaining, it was a fantastic fight anyway. Brook took major damage, nothing like vs Matt Hatton.
Brook would deal with Diaz in better fashion than Khan did..and IMO would do a much better job on Jones if they rematched.
Not ideal fights, i'd like to see him face someone up a level, but that said im eager to see him in the ring again..must be getting on 7-8 months now since his last fight.
Brook was far better than Jones.
He schooled him completely for the first half. Only when Brook ran out of steam did Jones start to get any good work done. That fight was great for Brook in terms of letting him see his biggest flaw (stamina) and allowing him to then go and fix it.
Khan-Diaz was a close fight pretty much all the way, then Khan was dropped and also very lucky to surive the 11th...I'm not trashing Khan about it, it's simply what happened.

Jesus.
No need for any of this tbh, wasting his time. We already saw him beat Jones and know he's the far better fighter, and we also know Diaz no longer offers much....unless it's against am Amir Khan type fighter with no defence and a terrible chin.
That's at least a year for those fights, and they do nothing for him.

Actually they're making it a 10 round fight this time which is even more in Brook's favor

He'll beat the sh*t out of both those guys.
He was embarrassing Jones in the first fight until he ran out of gas, this will be a full 12 rounds of that...if not a stoppage.
Not exciting fights at all, he should be fighting top guys. Alexander would indeed have been a terrible fight as all he does is pit-pat and hold, but stay in the top level.
