Jon Jones quote
"To be honest with you, if it was all hands, it would probably be a pretty competitive match. But that's not fighting, either. You can't be at the bar and be like, alright, no kicking, no taking me down, don't stretch my shirt out. It's not like that. What I do, I consider it to be the true art of fighting. To do everything. Fighting Floyd Mayweather wouldn't even be right. Nobody would want to see that. James Toney did it about two years ago. He lost in the first round. Don't mess with an MMA fighter. You don't want to do that. It's a bad look."
First of all i enjoy MMA but Jon Jones is a serious twat for talking about fighting someone so much smaller than him, hell even Fury was man enough to call out someone in the same weight class.
Lets see how well Jones does against a heavyweight or hell even a super middleweight if it was all hands. What a tool
It all depends on what you consider to be "winning a real fight" If a real fight is two people squaring up without any weapons or friends then yeah Jones would beat just about anyone.
If a real fight is two random people meet on the street and fight, it goes to whoever is carrying a gun.
Jones also said boxing was dead but yet he only sold 500k ppv buys and Mayweather did over a million.
I always ask MMA people how many kick boxing matches they use to watch on tv or how many karate matches thy watched? The answer is 0 they watch MMA for the stand up game which is boxing. I really cannot stand the MMA faithful. I about got in a fight with a dude at a Pacquaio watching party b/c he was a big MMA guy and I said why do you like watching grown men kick each other or wrestling on the ground with each other and he was like its called fighting. How many bar fights or street fights have you seen guys kicking each other?
I have seen almost every street fight go to the ground.
And stand up in mma is not boxing........i train both and have 2 stances, a boxing stand, and a mma stance(way more squared up)
The true art of fighting is fighting without any rules, so MMA fighters and boxers included, those with that line of thinking need to shut the fuck up.

You can't be at the bar and be like, alright, no biting, no eye gouging, no testicle blows, no finger/hand manipulation, no headbutting, no elbows oh and we're going to have a referee here to enforce these rules, also no sucker punching or use of bottles, chairs, weapons.

Floyd 36 undefeated for 17 years 1-1.5 mil buys>Jones 25 undefeated for 5 years 500.000-700.000 ppv buys.
You do the mat if Jon remains undefeated for 17 years and ppv is still around how big of star will he be...
But the thing is people tune it to watch the UFC, not Jones alone. If it was just him and a lesser name fighting with a weak undercard to support the main event, how many ppvs would he sell? Also you can't trust the numbers released by the UFC.
MMA fighters are pathetic. Their "claim" of supremacy over boxers is because 45 year old fatass over the hill boxers try MMA and lose.
And some of them win.

The quickest way to knock someone out is a straight punch to the chin. That fact alone makes boxing relevant in all-out fighting. A boxer always has a chance against any fighting style.
Or to the temple, which can actually kill.
Can we stop the "Boxing is better than MMA" stuff....BOXING IS NOT FIGHTING.
MMA is not real fighting either because there are rules and regulations. In the early days the UFC was extremely close to real fighting because there was no weightclass, no round system, no gloves, and hitting the groin was allowed. But the MMA that you see today is pretty far from real fighting because of all the new rules.

MMA fighting isnt real fighting. You cant be at a bar and be like, hey I tapped out, stop punching me, or hey no elbows to the face that isnt in the rules.
Personally what I like to do is creep up on someone and smash them over the head with a beer bottle when theyre not looking. I consider that the real art of fighting because its closer to what you might encounter in a bar fight than that MMA gay stuff with all those rules.
lol
When I think fighting I think hands only. Maybe thats just me but that is how I always thought. I would never try to tackle someone in a fight or elbow or kick. It just doesn't seem right lol.

Sorry but as a boxing trainer and former boxer he's 100% right about real fighting. Now if he was to box Mayweather and let's say they were similar weight, he would be destroyed.
In a street fight though, the MMA fighter wins 9 out of 10 times. I have always said this, boxing is NOT fighting, it's a sport.
You don't kick, grab, grapple, choke, knee, elbow and all the other stuff they do in MMA. I train many MMA fighters and I would spar with them no problem, but would not get into a street fight with most of them because they would kick my ass.
I don't know how to wrestle, don't know what to do on my back..etc.

lol look man mma is closer to real fighting then boxing only bc you have more in your arsenal, elbows, knees, grappling etc. It isn't real fighting either bc it has rules like any other sport!
Now real fighting is what they did back in the gladiator days where you fought to the death with weapons etc.
i'm tired of this mma is better then boxing boxing better then mma ****! People they are different elements of fighting like I said in my previous post, that's like comparing football to basketball or hockey to tennis and saying one is not a true form of sports!

Some people are unbelievable. Jones would treat Floyd like a kid period. Its not even a fair debate on size alone. Let's see Floyd shoulder roll a kick from a 6'4 220 pound beast.
And yes MMA is closer to a real fight.
Someone with some brains around here, everyone else is completely bias towards boxing haha. Noobs.

LMAO. I suppose there's no headbutts in pub fights either??
Evander Holyfield would beat any UFC/MMA fighter in history in a real pub fight (if he ever went to a pub lol).
Bernard Hopkins would kill you in a pub fight, you'd have to be a idiot to try and fight B-hop.

mayweather makes him look like a fool for 12 rounds in a boxing ring. i dont care about weight, let jones be as heavy as he wants he would land in the single digits through 12 rounds on floyd. not even in the same universe as far as standup skills. i was 17 years old at 141 lbs in amateur boxing. sparring with pro lightheavys. im not saying those guys were world beaters, but my boxing skills were superior to theirs. they couldnt hit me because of the skill/speed difference. now imagine the best fighter in the world/best defensive fighter of all time vs a bum in boxing terms. mayweather would embarrass him.
Jon Jones is trash - his resume is full of washed up Pride Champs and smaller men....talking about fighting lil Floyd? UFC isn't pure fighting because there are rules. Floyd would probably poke his ****in eyes if he tries to full mount him. **** outta here with that f@ggot ass wrestling **** - Boxing/Stand up in general is real fighting.
Yea Jon Jones is very talented when it comes to MMA. I'm hoping that he is knowledgeable enough to realize that floyd is 5'8 and 147 and was just saying that without even thinking. Obviously jones would win in the boxing ring given that he has 60lbs on him,12 inch reach and 7 inch height advantage. People like Jon Jones don't look at aspects like weight class etc. when it comes to comparing a fighter in the boxing world like floyd. All he see's is an all time great and a superstar that he only wishes he could be. Seeing how foreign the sport of boxing is to him and that floyd is way richer, respected, and more talented in his realm he probably feels beneath floyd. He probably is jeolous of what floyd has achieved and wants to piggy back on his stardom by saying that he and floyd in the ring would be a good match. What he probably means is that he and floyd are one in the same breed of fighter and that there greatness is comparable with each other. What I think is Jon Jones is a dousch bag who needs to know his place. I wish David Haye would some how fight him in the ring and have a field day on him and finally achieve the fame he deserves.
