I have a feeling that Khan may be on the horizon for a Mayweather fight if he can notch up a couple of wins. It may even be held in the UK!
Would you get excited for this match up or is Khan simply totally out of his depth?
Personally, though I see Khan losing, it's an interesting match up because of Khan's speed. What do you think?
I think it's a fun fight, stylistically it will be pleasing, both guys have blinding speed and prefer fighting from the outside and for probably the second time in Floyds career he will be up against similar speed, if not slightly faster than himself (Judah).
Styles make fights, Khan actually probably gives him more problems than a Guerrero or a Garcia. The fight will bring a monster gate, massive ppv numbers, I think it is likely to do over a million in the US, and 500k-1mill in the UK. I agree with the people who say Khan needs to win and be a champion at 147 to warrant the fight. It should be against Devon.
In terms of the fight, I can't see past a Floyd KO/TKO. It could happen at any time in the fight, Floyd hits hard and is accurate as hell, he certainly hits harder than Julio Diaz. But the likely scenario is Khan has some early success and fights on pretty even terms for 4 rounds and after that starts slowing down and getting hit cleaner. He will get stopped one way or another between rounds 6-9.
When Mayweather visited The United Kingdon of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Marquez promo.
Mayweather said "I am is going to buy a house in the UK"
" My next fight will be in the UK"
"People of the UK are true boxing fans, and i love the UK"
Casual fans are the best fans. There's loads of them, and they eat it all up. He's been marketed perfectly since he was in the olympics. Khan is probably better known in the UK than Carl Froch.. Amazing, really.
No doubt about it,it's sad really
I fancy it would sell easily but Khan isn't and never will be ready for that kind of guy, he would just get picked apart and timed all night long.
I don't think Mayweather would knock him out though not unless Khan went lunging in carelessly when throwing punches that's the only bold claim I'd make on this one.
I could see Khan having some success early on with jab and movement. Thing is, he doesn't have enough power to hurt Floyd, who takes a good punch. And then Floyd will time him like Garcia did it and he would see the punches coming.
Has anyone checked the reach difference between the two?

khan's fans ARE casual fans, and there's plenty of them so no problem there

no way, Khan's looked too shaky for that
casual fans might ham it up, but others will know better
Khan struggled with Diaz and got KO'd by Garcia
unless he went on a KO streak or something, there's no hype there

This fight will certainly happen...Khan is fresh for the picking, Lenny aka "Floyd's chest massager" said they wanted a fight in the UK. Khan said he is moving up and is calling out Floyd its already being set up. This is another cherry pick that will get blown out of proportion by Marketing Khan as some type of threat.
Khan fans would eat it up there are a lot of nut huggers that are casual fans that still believe in this fool. They think he can learn from his mistakes lol
it will be a sell out in the UK!
Mayweather has a massive fan base in the UK also.
it makes sense if only khan looks impressive which i doubt he will!
I think a lot of the people on NSB are underestimating Floyd's power. He has very good power, but if you look at the guys he's been fighting since, say, Judah, they are fighters that are very durable and not likely to get KO'd by anyone really. Marquez, Cotto, Mosley, Guerrero, Oscar, Baldomir and to his probs he KOd to other durable guys (at the time) in Hatton and Ortiz.
I know Cotto had been stopped twice before and Oscar went down on a body shot, but still.
People also forget that he's moving up in weightclass to fight guys who are 165+ when they are in the ring and he's 147-150. So Khan who would fight at 150 would be a much more even playing field and we would really see Floyd's power come to fruition again.
there is absolutely no reason for floyd to fight khan other than filling wembley. Khan is really a piece of **** bum who GBP only keeps around because they can get Canelo and Broner big bucks to wear him out.
