I'm glad rosado,Santa Cruz, ponce de Leon, and mares gave me my 70 dollars worth last night, only to see mayweather hold every time Guerrero had him on the ropes and then run like he was in a track meet every time Guerrero chased him! Thank god for Latino boxers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've come to realise that some people love the sport of boxing in all it's forms, some people like what they like and some just want to find the negativity in anything particular fighters do.
Mayweather moves, pot shots and makes good fighters look ordinary and people say it's boring (usually because the opponent is just too clueless to adapt).
Mayweather changes, stands in front of his opponent more, even walks them down and takes more chances. Do people say: "now that's more like it". Nope. they speculate that Mayweather has slipped, lost his legs, is getting old.
Mayweather proves the naysayers wrong by going back to moving, pot shots and making good fighters look ordinary....... and he's boring again.
Some people love boxing, some like what they like, and others are just full of negativity and there's just no cure for that.
Stop making sense! Not allowed here
Im not hispanic but Latino fighters do put on better fights. Just finished watching the mayweather fight online and I'm glad I watched iron man 3 instead of the ppv last night

Nicely Put.
Even if fighters hold, refs job is to not allow blatant holding. Notice that those that do the "best" holding are always holding on the opposite side of where the ref is positioned? Why is that? It's because if the ref sees the fighter holding blatantly, he can get a point deducted.
The ref last night broke up clinches in a timely manner and he told them to work out of the clinch at times. I don't think he did that enough though.
Are you kidding me? Name an all time great that didn't hold. Ali made it an art to grab behind the head. SRR, SRL and Holmes grabbed all of their opponents when they got close. It's called tying up your opponent.
Hearns did not learn to tie up opponents until late in his career. Had he the ability to do so earlier, he may not have lost to Marvin or SRL.

excessive clinching makes fights boring as ****. I can't stand to watch Ward and Alexander matches when they do it. Floyd got away with it alot last night.
Dont know bro. Guerrero landed jack ****! He hit like 90% air, and was blocked another 9.8% of the time and only landed like .02%!
He ran chasing FMJr. he didnt even try to to cut the ring on Floyd which is a basic boxing skill. It remained me of Cotto vs Margarito 2.
Floyd granted Guerrero the opportunity in the center of the ring, on the ropes and he was completely ineffective.
It was a technical schooling.
Floyd is a great fighter. Unbelievable reflexes, handspeed. But he won't be where he is if he was not allowed to grab and hold. Something other all-time greats don't do as a standard part of the way they fight.

Sweet Science? What about calling it a predictable outcome?
Time you guys wake up and smell the coffee.
What Floyd did was that he took advantage of Guerrero being slow. If Guerrero had speed that sweet science talk would have been thrown out the window. Guerrero's plan was actually a very good plan BUT only if Guerrero had fast hands and had good movement!!!
Most people knew that Guerrero was slow at WW (not fast to begin with). At least I did. Only chance Guerrero had was to make it a brawl but Floyd was allowed to hold plus he did have movement last night so that was effectively neutralized. Even then, again, Guerrero was slow at WW and does not have explosive power.
Berto, as most knowledgeable people know has bad defense. So Guerrero took advantage of that but even then we saw Berto able to hit Guerrero with some vicious shots on the inside.
Is always a bad night (insert boring, running or whatever excuse) when the guy you are rooting for has no moments and is getting thoroughly outclassed.
If Guerrero had a few moments, was able to catch Floyd or even get him in exchanges then I bet you would claim it was a great fight. That didn't happen and who's fault was that? The Onus was on Guerrero to atleast do something but he was unable to because Floyd is that good.
You're wasting your time speaking the truth to people that will only see negative things. It's like trying to describe colours to Stevie Wonder. Some people love the sport of boxing and some will find ANY reason to be negative because their own issues.

Floyd won but he did hold excessively. Floyd is from the same school of fighting as Devon Alexander and Andre Ward.
