Martinez had success at times in the fight, particularly the early portion, but he faded badly, and Murray really took it to him.
I thought Murray won the fight comfortably, and that was a surprise for me, as I fully expected a lopsided affair for Martinez heading into the fight.
After watching the fight, however, I couldn't help thinking that Martinez is close, or maybe even overdue, for retirement. He doesn't appear to have any power any more, and his punches are much easier to see coming than they used to be.
It's a been a good run, and Martinez has been a credit to the sport. But speed and decent power have been trademarks of what made Martinez successful, and they appear to be significantly diminished.
One more fight, maybe, and then I'd say it's time to hang it up, man. Pick the right opponent and give your fans a nice farewell fight to remember you by.
Murray won 6 rds and got a KD, so he rightfully won
he didn't dominate completely, but he deserved the decision for sure
and there was another extra point he coulda got but didn't
It was a close fight, but I had Murray taking that fight. He really turned it up in the middle rounds, and with that knockdown(which should have been 2 knockdowns), he won the fight imo.
Murray should have won it
Serg had rds 1-2
rounds 3-4 where close but i gave edge to murray cuz of cleaner, harder shots
rnds 5 thru 10 was all murray with a knockdown, should have been 2
11-12 serg did win as murray completely gassed and stopped fighting
even if you gave serg the close rounds it's still 114-113 for murray.
No way serg won all the first 5 rounds. maybe three or four but def not 5.
just my opinion but serg needs to hang it up or sellout with a canelo fight
Murray should have won, he landed the better shots and in reality had 2 KDs, one of which was missed by the ref. Murray kind of exposed Martinez in one area and that is punch variety. All martinez did was 1-2 all night long and all murray did was put up a high guard and walk str8 into Sergio and blocked 80% of his punches without moving his head.
I scored the fight 114 to 113 for Martinez. If the ref would have called that second KD a KD in stead of a slip.
I would have had Murray winning this fight.I give mad props to Murray on his effort agains't Martinez.
no way a robbery, close fight, murray fought like a ***** early, i was hatin on him early thinkin he was gonna make it real boring but then he turned it up and gained my respect
srry for doubtin you man
Murray clearly won the fight in my opinion. He won over half of the rounds and scored a knock down. It is hard to get the win in the country of a national hero even when you deserve to win.

Define "robbed". I had it 7 rounds to 5 for Murray, plus 1(2) knockdown(s). That said, it's no surprise to me it went Martinez's way.
