Now obviously I understand bad chin + good power = very possibly :spank: of Khan but if he could fight and overcome Lucas Matthysse - over whom he has sizeable physical advantages, would that silence the haters?
I recall the Maidana fight where no one gave Khan a chance and he came thru. He may be able to keep away from LM and secure a points win?
Certainly more agile, quicker and a better 'burst' puncher.
Nothings for sure, obviously - but LM has been outboxed by men with far less natural ability then Khan.
Khan is faster than Alexander/Judah, but probably doesn't punch as hard as them. His speed won't mean a thing if/when he gets caught over the top of his jab with an overhand right, or when he gets countered with a left hook in the middle of one of his flurries.
No more thread about Khan vs anybody at 140 , We all know GBP is making Khan vs Alexander in December..

Maidana is better than Matthysse . if he was able to survive Maidana , he will beat Matthysse for sure .
Nothings for sure, obviously - but LM has been outboxed by men with far less natural ability then Khan.
That would be a very big win for Khan, but his punch resistance is too shaky for me to pick him. Matthysse has enough of everything to catch Khan and put him away. He's a pretty good pressure fighter who's capable of countering if he needs to. Khan is gonna be in danger wherever the fight takes place because Lucas has a good left hook and can throw the looping right that Khan is susceptible to.
I think Matthysse would get arrested for the things he would do to Amir Khan. If he was doing the chicken dance for Diaz imagine Matts... jesus christ. It would be criminal.
Matthysse would silence Khan for good. That should be obvious. Khan barely excaped being KOed by Diaz with help from the referee and Lucas is ten times the fighter Diaz is and a real KO artist. The Khan that fought so well against Maidana, Paulie, and Judah under Roach is history. The new, improved, Hunter trained Khan stinks and has no future at the championship level. Garcia seemed to have ruined him. His chin is worse than ever and his confidence seems to be gone. He can only beat hand picked opponents now in my opinion.
Although all of you saying Matthysse would beat Khan. So much to the point you all make it sound like it's almost pointless to make the match up. The fight still need to happen because I want to witness it.
if he fights lucas hes gonna get sparked, if diaz and peterson are able to wobble khan then lucas will put him to sleep.
lucas is a genuine power puncher who can finish fights with one punch.
last night khan showed the same faults he always has done - he has a bad habit of backing out of clinches/exchanges with his hands by his neck or chest and this leaves his chin exposed and a good counter puncher or a powerful puncher would KO him. he still pushes opponents off him and has no inside game.
honestly he needs to avoid JMM and lucas.
like angel garcia said "Maidana didn't even train for that fight! He trained for two weeks sparring little kids in Puerto Rico!" which it true BTW.
Which is why Khan wants no part of a rematch with Maidana. As Freddie Roach said, Khan should stay away from punchers.
If Khan did win then of course he deserves credit but the critics won't be silenced because his body just doesn't react well to punches.
Glass jaw - no defence - put him in with Lucas and he gets killed.
I wouldn't give any fighter credit for beating Khan at this point. He has too many weaknesses to be considered a legitimate contender for a elite 140 pounder.
Sorry to say, but Khan is bum level. Exciting but that's it. If Garcia or Matthysse agree to a fight with him they are cherry pickers.
there is zero chance for Khan vs the top fighters. Espciailyl vs Lucas. He will get stopped and knocked out, end of story.
But does AK have sufficient size advantages to make this closer then people think? He tends to dominate the small guys and at 5'6 LM is a midget. :fest30:
I can just visualize AK using his jab and running, clinching but racking up the rounds.
