IMO, he gave away too many of the early rounds before he started sweeping the fight
"Sergio Martinez won fair and square – I didn't do enough," said St Helens fighter Murray to end a night of honesty and decency on both sides of the ropes for British boxers.

That's the exact same scorecard that I have.
Dude, that's a horrible scorecard, I wouldn't be shouting that from any rooftops. You have to be flat out blind or biased to give it to Martinez by more than two rounds.
I initially had it to Martinez by a point, but I watched it again and scored it for Murray by a point. I don't think you can argue one way or another, although the three point swing to Martinez was pure bull****. Would love to see a good replay of the alleged second knockdown - looked legit on initial viewing and on my scorecard would have given Murray the fight for sure.
Great performance by Murray regardless, really didn't think he had it in him, although it has to be said that Martinez looked his age for once - his reflexes seem to have gone.
Martin Murray won a close but clear decision and that was without the second knockdown.
Just a shame he didn't put it on Martinez in the first 3 rounds or it would have been a schooling. Martinez didn't land anything significant in the whole fight.
Maybe once and for all we can stop the Mayweather-Martinez bull that is spewed here on the daily. Sergio looked like s**t tonight, noticeably not nearly as sharp as the Chavez fight. I don't know if he's hit the inevitable age wall, if the surgery effected him, or if it was just an off night.....but he looked like crap.
Sergio should fight Golovkin next, if Golovkin beats Macklin. If not, I don't see how it's not avoiding him.
Close fight but Murray just not doing enough for me - too much waiting & not enough punching, while Martinez was making the fight. Murray might of been more effective in parts when he did finally start to do something, but he didn't follow through with it.
That said, while I think Martinez did enough to edge it he really looked his age for much of the bout & it looks like he's coming to the end of his reign. Reflexes looked shot for large parts of the fight & if Murray had pushed things more I'm not sure if Martinez could of held up.
i had it 6-6 plus the knockdown in favor of murray, so i gave it to murray but some of those rounds were close and that's why i can see martinez wining by one point
The second knockdown to me was pretty clear, even before the replays.
You have it as a KD Pea? I see him land some grazing shots, but he whiffs on most of them, then steps on his foot and lands a grazing shot to the back of Martinez' hand/neck. I just don't think it's a KD.
Martinez didn't win that fight by any means. Murray pummeled him from pillar to post for 6 rounds and knocked him down TWICE.
****ing robbery, very predictable too
