He can beat Peterson and he still holds a title. I think he can beat Bradley too who also holds a belt. He can't beat Matthysse but he may be able to UD Garcia if he stays out of range. He also beats Malignaggi so it's not all doom and gloom for Amir.
I don't think he can beat Peterson if they fight again. To me that was a classic case of one guy solving the other guys style and then completely taking a fight over.
I would compare it to the Hopkins-Pascal fights and I would expect Peterson to be able to pick up where he left off and start applying effective pressure and breaking Khan down much quicker than the first time around.
As for Pauli- Who cares? Personally I can't believe that anyone wants to see that fight again. If Khan went after Pauli instead of the all the fights fans want they are going to sh*t on him everywhere except the UK and Pakistan.
Also - completely honest question.....
Do you think the Khan that fought Diaz would have stood up to the same punches he took from Peterson and Maidana?
To me he looks much more fragile, and that is saying something because he always has been. He was shook up several times tonight by punches that were not nearly as hard as ones landed by Peterson or especially Maidana (obviously an opinion but I think most would agree)
He's been knocked out badly a few times now. Knocked down and taken a lot of punishment on several other occasions. I would wager to say he has taken more punishment in 31 fights than Wlad Klitschko has in 62.
I believe his punch resistance is at an all time low and his confidence, regardless of what he says, is at a low point as well. He is torn between what he is and what people want him to be and neither style plays well with his inherent weaknesses.
Obviously everyone knows I don't like Khan - but giving an honest opinion - I think he is a damaged fighter and his best days are behind him.
Why is it even in question?
He got dropped by Willie Limmond and needed help from a corrupt U.K referee
Dropped by career super featherweight Michael Gomez
Starched by Prescott in 30 seconds.
Lucky to survive against Maidana
Beaten to a pulp by Peterson
Destroyed by Danny Garcia
Dropped & hurt multiple times against Julio Diaz
His chin is made of fine bone China.
Khan shouldn't even fight the tourny winner, he should try to immediately cash out with a fight against floyd if he can
It would be pretty damn funny if they tried to make the Mayweather fight after Khan going life and death with Julio Diaz.
Khan is glass jawed. Glass jaw doesn't mean getting KO'd all the time it can mean also getting rocked way too much like Khan does with low level fighters too.
I watched Khan for many years and I saw him getting caught by F- fighters.
Khan is disappointing me nowadays. I think he should retire because he seems so vulnerable. If he loses against the tournament winner, its time to retire.
Agree on Peterson (possibly) and Malignaggi. Not the rest. His chin is weak to the point that pillow fist Bradley may rock him.
Garcia will hurt him. I dont want to see that.
Khan is always going to have a hard time beating the best 140-147 lb'ers because if you get put down twice, even if you aren't hurt, you're spotting your opponents too many points and forcing yourself to take more risks.
I can't see him getting through 12 rounds against any of the top guys without hitting the canvas. He may be able to run, hold and survive, but he won't have refs that let him do it like tonight's guy did.

It was a legit knockdown. I don't have the GIF but the replay clearly showed he was already on his way down and their feet barely touched.
I didn't say it wasn't legit, merely that it was more than 2 punches and his feet were tangled.
He still leaves the right hand low after he sthrows a combination which leaves him wide open to the left hook. If I were him I'd leave it a couple of fights atleast before going for the world title again as he still makes so many mistakes he's a KO waiting to happen. To his credit though he always gives full value for money, and there aren't many fighters you can say that about these days.
There was a degree of foot entanglement, but doesnt undo the fact that Khan has a bad chin.
Feet tangled or not he would have gone down.
I'm not even saying he was hurt that badly, just that it was legitimate.

If you're being fair he is always off balance because his footwork is sloppy and he never sets his feet to punch.
Just another glaring weakness in Khan's game that you don't see from any of the other good fighters at his weight.

It was three punches tbf, the third when his feet were tangled.

To be fair mate, he was pretty badly off balance when he got dropped.

There is not another world class 140lb fighter that would have been put down by that clipping 2 punch combo that dropped Khan today.

I've always said he's got an average chin and he pretty much showed it in this fight. He got knocked down but he was out of position, he got wobbled but did exactly the right things to recuperate - the only bad thing is that he shot back up to his feet again instead of taking a knee but at least he held on.
I was more impressed with Diaz overall, he did much better than I expected although Khan just about won that fight. I don't know if Diaz just came in at his absolute peak or if Khan is on the downside of his career now.
LMAO.. knocked out a lot of fighters?
Yeah, a lot of guys in the 112 lb weight division maybe.
Khan's chin is so sh*t that it makes people classify average punches as "bombs" because of how poorly he takes them.
