The massive turnout for Martinez comes on the heels of a New York sellout for Guillermo Rigondeaux's victory over Nonito Donaire at Radio City Music Hall two weeks ago and another sellout that drew almost 40,000 to the Alamodome in San Antonio to see the emergence of superstar Canelo Alvarez last week.
Those, though, are only the appetizers for the main event, which will be Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s return against Robert Guerrero on May 4 in Las Vegas. That bout will sell out the MGM Grand Garden and deliver a live paid gate approaching $18 million.

I'm a huge Floyd fan..... but this article is B.S.
If the live gate exceeds 10 Million that would be exceptional...
Also, read a Forbes article today that stated CBS believes Mayweather v Guerrero will sell between 1.2 to 1.5 Million ppv buys.... if that happens then before the Showtime contract is over, Floyd will see a single payday fight in excess of $85 Millon.
My revised ppv buy rate prediction (originally 1 million)..... 850K
Michael, Doug or Lem @ringmagazine 21h
Lem: Attendance: 15,880; Gate: $9,922,350. #boxing
So this story was bull****. LOL
I was about to say. No way in hell this breaks De La Hoya/Mayweather's record.
Dang.... Guerrero/Mayweather gonna break 2.6 million PPV sold
But, but, but, but, Canelo is the main reason why people buys tickets to see Floyd's fights. He's the real draw, Floyd can't sell without him.
But wait there is more from the Pac retards , this show will bomb it has no vibe and nothing going for it , no promotion , loads of tickets left .
hahahah , the losers keep loosing and the winners keep wining .

Lets talk about what is REAL, BRING FACTS TO THE TABLE, don't make up stuff against someone you don't like because you want them to Fail In Life Like You Have
The irony...
And if you read thru the thread you will see Kenny Blankenship /ended thread. I also didn't see you providing ANY fact so who are you to be asking people to bring facts to the table? You're dead wrong if you think I got reason to hate on Mayweather cause he SUPPOSEDLY got more money than me. I don't hate on anyone for their success in life.

Holy hell. No way.....
That's crazy. That's approaching Mayweather-De La Hoya which is the biggest in Vegas history.
c'mon i know you arent that retarded to actually believe this shyt.
Some of you are getting Desprate, it is getting PATHETIC and a little SAD
$18 Million is no surprise...IT IS MAYWEATHER you fuking Idiots, why are we even trying to debate How Big Of A Draw He Is? A Mayweather Weekend In Vegas Generates A LOT OF MONEY in a Around Vegas for ALL BUSINESSES
People want to see this event fail so bad because Canelo is not apart of it because somehow they was led to believe that Canelo is just as big of a Draw as Mayweather if not Bigger and that is just not true...LET IT GO!
Man get the hell out of here. $18 million is a surprise because it would make it the highest grossing fight in Vegas history.
If you believe Mayweather-Guerrero with entire sections still empty will reach that level I don't know what to tell you.
I go to most of Floyd's fights. You couldn't even get a ticket to the ODH fight after the first week. With this many unsold tix and lower prices than the ODH fight this fight will not do 18.
Damn... Mayweather fans go hard. They get so defensive when you disrespect their god. Calling people "f*cking idiots" and all. Keyboard warriors assemble! :lol1:

 4 or 5 threads on a website means jack, that means you feel whatever you visit or the world revolves around you just because you know it you think everyone must know it too. Sorry, I don't know anyone when I go out even talking about the fight.
If it does legit good numbers more power too them, but the fight hasnt been promoted well. Of Course All Access will get more hits on youtube than Showtime, Showtimes whole thing is to get new subscribers using Floyd, and they are failing on that part, more people will just stream this fight or watch someone upload it on youtube.
Floyd fights on PPV so hes not bringing in new subscribers. Thats what guys like Canelo, Broner, and Garcia who fight on the networks are for.
The All Access numbers on the Shosports youtube page are good. Episode 2 already over 220,000 views. Face it whether you like it or not the words getting out. People have been saying this fight hasnt been promoted correctly yet everyday theres 4 to 5 Mayweather threads a day on this site alone.

Here is the Ticketmaster link to the Mayweather-Guerrero fight.

As you can see there are a lot of tickets left. Some on the good sections, some in the nosebleeds. Fact of the matter is there will be plenty of empty seats at this fight just like there are at all of Floyd's fights. Hell the Floyd-Cotto fight had empty seats. It's a combination of a few things: Floyd's style, the price and the opponent.
The nosebleeds are way overpriced never mind the good seats. You'll notice the good sections don't have tickets, that's misleading. The good sections never went on sale to the public. Floyd sells them on the secondary market through brokers. In essence he scalps tickets to his own fights. A lot of fighters do this to make extra coin on the event. Hatton did it as well. But brokers will have a hard time getting rid of them for this fight just like they did for the Ortiz fight.
Floyd is very much a PPV fighter. People will shell out the $60 for the PPV. $600 - $1000 to watch him fight Guerrero is another story all together.
So when they say the live gate will approach $18 million it's misleading because it's mostly due to the high price of tickets and not the demand, because there is no demand for tickets to this fight.
There's a reason Floyd never fights outside of Vegas, he can't draw outside of Vegas unless he has a high profile opponent that's why. A quarter of the tickets to a fight in Vegas are bought by casinos to comp their high rollers with. They give them away. That doesn't happen in NYC, LA or San Antonio. Vegas has a built in comp market of around 1,500-3,000 tickets per fight easy.
As you can clearly see by the ticketmaster link there are plenty of tickets left with a week to go before the fight.
like I said earlier, there is enough interest for people to shell out $60, not enough to shell out $600 - $1000 to see it live.
:werd:..........
