The winners "Usually" move on to bigger and better things/fights. But boxers lose/get KTFO/outclassed, and they get a bigger name the next fight than the guy who beat um.
I do see the thread starters point. I mean, logically speaking, in what kind of world are we supposed to believe that Amir Khan is ranked #2 in WW? Let alone JWW. Chavez loses to Martinez, gets caught with illegal supplements...twice. And will probably fight Andre Ward. Margarito loses to Mosley...no. Gets knocked out by Mosley, gets caught cheating, then one fight later against a nobody gets a Pacquiao fight. Cotto who loses to Trout, is somehow a consideration to fight Canelo. Not saying that won't be a good fight. Styles make fights, but what I'm trying to say is, there should be consequences for losing. Just like how there is a consequence for Trout because he lost to Canelo. He will actually be set back a lot from that one loss. Where as someone like Amir Khan, it doesn't matter how much times this guy loses, he will automatically be back on top after one fight.
This is the most absurd thing I have ever heard about MMA on this board ever. Not only did you just dismiss the sport of MMA but you also dismissed all the sports that make up MMA. I guess Ju Jitsu is not a sport? I guess wrestling isn't a sport? Which is funny because you're Russian and that has been an iconic sport in Russia for over a century. I guess Kickboxing isn't a sport? I guess karate isn't a sport? I guess Mu Thai isn't a sport? I guess Sambo isn't a sport (Another proud grappling tradition from Russia)? I guess Judo isn't a sport? Jesus thats a lot of sports you just dismissed just because you are a boxing fan.
Well my post went right over your head. The point im trying to make is that comparing what goes on in 1 promotion, to an entire sport is idiotic. It would be like comparing MMA to Top Rank

Regardless of the merits of the post you are speaking of, you are illogical. Just because the UFC is a "brand" i.e. a set of MMA it does not follow that all MMA is a subset of UFC. The proof of this? there is more than one brand of MMA yes? I don't even know how you come to associate all the arts you speak of with UFC? How do you do that?

UFC is a promotion. MMA is the sport.
Boxing is a sport. Top Rank is a promotion.
****ing noob
edit: Holy **** how can someone have 8000 posts with Fedor all over his sig and not ****ing know that?
Even tho I agree with you, here's ur new AzzHole.
Zab/Floyd was signed/agreed on B4 the Baldi fight, that's one of the reasons he won't sign on for future fights.
Boxing fans that were around at that time know this, I wouldn't expect you to (class of 2008 fan)
do your research. the judah-floyd fight was off after zab lost. they made new contracts and still did the fight anyway because zab sucks.

Ortiz beats Berto
Gets multi million dollar fight with Mayweather
Ortiz loses to Mayweather
Gets multi million dollar money fight with Canelo
Ortiz loses to Lopez
Lopez gets fight with Canelo in his place
Boxing fans: WAAAAAAH Canelo should fight a real opponent
So you people treat Canelo-Lopez like it's a bad thing while at the same time demanding fighters who earn their spot should be moved up? How does that work exactly?
In the UFC if you aren't a name you don't get the fights. Just look at Chael Sonnen fighting Jon Jones, or the fact that Dan Henderson was outright pushed aside because Dana wanted to sell some PPVs. The idea that UFC fighters are treated better than boxers is a total myth, utter horse ****.
lets get real, mma is a sport like spectacle, kind of like pro wrestling, i mean the guys fight in cage.
And? Football is played on the gridiron, basketball and tennis are played on a court. Baseball is played on a diamond and pro wrestling and boxing both happen in a ring. I fail to understand what the field of play has one fuking thing to do with what makes a sport a sport.

JMM being less of a seller is a perfect example and Floyd most likely having 2 fights in two years is a perfect example of entitlement you don't see in the UFC.I think ur just hurt man, I never even mentioned Floyd (But u got him on ur brain)
Is he all u think of when someone who knows Floyd spanks Manny speaks on anything?
Would u think of Floyd if I mentioned how flat/stiff that canvas looked in the Rigo/Donaire fight, or how tight the ropes seemed?

Lol damn that's a long time
You can't really compare the UFC to Boxing because the UFC is a company. Top Rank is a company like the UFC and Bob can do and does what ever he wants with his company just like Dana does.
A lot of boxers live on their past Floyd and Pacquiao fans have to talk about the competition they fought 7 years ago as to why they are p4p.where in my thread did I mention Floyd or Manny?
I know right? Judah lost to baldomir and still got that floyd fight.Even tho I agree with you, here's ur new AzzHole.
